  • Beowulf

Beowulf is hitting Theaters November 16th and I have to say I am a bit excited about it. The trailer looks fantastic and its going to be in IMAX 3D, which should be really fun.

Anyone else looking forward to it?

I'm torn on this. On the one hand, you've got a great masterpiece of literary art done for the big screen in the CG style of "Polar Express." Blah.

On the other, you've got naked Angelina Jolie. Oh yeah.

I'm thinking Netflix. Perhaps with a little freeze frame.

Are you kidding me? this is so one of those films you have to see in the theater, especially since its in IMAX and in Digital 3D. You can't get that kind of experience at home.

I think I'm going to try and catch this on IMAX. I'm intruged by the amount of positive reviews it's been getting.

Well I think having a nice theater is key. I can't even tell you how excited I am about seeing this in 3D. I feel like a Kid again and everyone keeps talking about how good the film is. I am going tonight.

Is anyone else not excited about this movie?

I mean, maybe it's just me, but I don't care for that whole "motion capture animation" like Polar Express. It's like the movie can't make up its mind whether it wants to be a live action or animated film. Pick one.

                                      Re: Beowulf

I had some high hopes for it, but I have to say the onlypart of the movie I enjoyed was the previews. The animation makes the characters look just wierd enough to be really distracting, and it took itself way too seriously. Maybe if it had beeninjected with a nice good helping of camp it could have made it, but it was just a boring, lame movie to me.

A friend invited me to see it tomorrow at the Paramount lot. They have an incredibly outstanding theater there -- but no popcorn. I haven't seen a 3D movie before; so I hope it's good.
