Umm...was anyone else obssessed with this movie in the 80's?? and have you seen that ABC Family is showing Cutting Edge 3 on March 16? I didnt even know they made a second one but apparently they did and it will also be shown on ABC Family, along with the first one, on March 16.. Is anyone else excited about this?

    Re: The Cutting Edge

I have seen parts of "cutting edge 2", it was worse than "bring it on again" or whatever the "bring it on" sequal was called. I don;t think I'll be tuning in to Cutting Edge 3. I do enjoy watching the original from time to time however.

    A little piece of heaven

      Re: The Cutting Edge

The 2nd one was about the daughter of the two from the first movie (so we're to assume Kate & Doug got married down the road). Was really bad.

I didn't really like the first one. I watched it a couple of months ago and thought it was kind of cheesy. Like most of the teen 80's movies I guess.

          TOE PIIIIIICK!

I loooove Cutting Edge. I just introduced it to my daughters a few weekends ago, since it's been free On Demand. They keep walking around saying "toe pick!"

Haven't seen the other two and I don't plan to...ever.

            Re: The Cutting Edge

The first thing I thought of when I saw the title of this thread was Toe Pick. You crack me up Claire.

I love love love love love The Cutting Edge. It is one of those movies that I can watch over and over again. We have the DVD somewhere. I should find it and watch it soon.

ETA: The Cutting Edge was released in 1992. :geek:

haha..."toe pick".. i actually said that to my roommate when i saw the promo on ABC family..

i agree, the first one is def one of those movies i can watch over and over again so theres no way im not gonna give the 2nd and 3rd a chance

also, apparently the daughter from the 2nd one is now the coach in the 3rd..

                  Re: The Cutting Edge

Do the rest of you say it in the sing-songy way that Kate says it during the floping montage?

I love this movie and if the sequel is any indication, I'll be skipping the threequel.

Check it out, its the DVD cover of Cutting Edge 2 and 3:

Apparently in the 3rd one, the girl is the Hockey player and the guy is the figure skater...you can see her hockey stick poking out from behind him on the DVD cover.. great twist!

                      Re: The Cutting Edge

I'm sorry to necropost, but I had to mention that I love this movie. My sister and I used to get it at the library so much that my mum finally bought it for me on DVD a while back. I knew there was a sequel, but I was never interested ... I've never liked kid-of-the-original-characters movies. Jaws 3, right?

We did do the "Toooeee piiiick" line, though. Ahh, now I wanna watch this movie.

Saw it the other day but didn't get to see most of it so I'm watching it again tonight - it's on next!

The second one bored me, so I won't watch the third.

First one I haven't seen the whole thing of yet, but I know my mom has it, so I think i'll pop that in. I liked what I saw.

Ok, I admit it. I watched the double feature tonight and will probably at least give a peek to the threequel. If for no other reason than to find out why Jackie is on it but Alex is not. My 9 year old enjoyed it and was later seen spinning around the kitchen while trying to jump. Luckily, she has a good center of gravity and didn't hit the floor!!
