    India chosen for network's 'Cheetah'

    'The Cheetah Girls'

The Mouse House is set to make its first Disney Channel original movie in India.

It will lense "The Cheetah Girls: One World," the third pic in its "Cheetah Girls" teen hit franchise, in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

The made-fors are based on the book series by Deborah Gregory.

Three of the four original stars will reprise their roles: Sabrina Bryan plus Adrienne Bailon and Kiely Williams, both of the R&B/pop group 3LW. The missing Cheetah is "That's So Raven" star Raven-Symone.

In the pic, helmed by Paul Hoen, the Cheetahs go to Bollywood to make a movie. Indian cast includes Roshan Seth, Kunal Shamra, Rupak Ginn and Deepti Daryanani plus Michael Steger and 1,500 local extras.

Debra Martin Chase is exec producer.

"Localizing international franchises has been a Disney Channel benchmark across the world," said Antoine Villeneuve, senior VP and managing director of Walt Disney Television Intl. (India). "The movie uses local settings, talent and creativity to further strengthen our brand affinity while providing the environment that Indian kids relate to."

The music and dance adventure will premiere in October on versions of the Disney Channel around the world.
