I've read the instruction on the faq page but just don't get it....can anyone explain in simple english how to attach a few photos I took the other day. I wanted to post a trip report regarding the Christmas Day filming and put up a few pics with it.
Use a photo uploading service (flickr.com is the one I use). Upload the photos, then right-click on the photo you want. Select 'copy image location'. On Micechat, paste the URL in the box created after clicking the button that looks like this:. Hope that helps.
anyone can post images. it's really not as much work as you think. once you get even ONE image up, i'm sure it'll be smooth sailing from there on out.
Exactly. It sounds like a lot of work, but once you get use to it its a breeze. The time consuming part is if you want to do any pre-editing to the pics before you upload them, then taking the time to get them uploaded... once you have that done putting them in the thread is easy.
Step by step, very basically... (assuming you have your pictures ready to load):
1. Upload pictures to a hosting site like photobucket.
2. Copy the IMG code provided (if using photobucket) as shown here:
3. Paste the IMG code in the reply box.
4. Hit reply.
If you host on a site that doesn't automatically provide IMG code, you can insert by using the "insert image" icon in the reply box, or simply copy the url (address) of the image and put the code around it. In the front you would put
Thats pretty much it.
Hope that helps. You could post some practice pics in here if you want. And if you still have questions, let us know!
Next, select the desired size of the image to post in the forum:
(images will be automatically resized to 800 X 600)
Right click on the image and copy the image address*:
*If using PC, select "Properties", then down at the bottom of the popup, select the address to the image; then copy it.
Next, click the insert image link on the MiceChat reply box:
Finally, paste the image address in the prompt:
Congratulations! You just inserted an image!
(The problem you were having was you were trying to make the HTML page of the image an image, so it does not parse...)
