  • How to filter your "New Posts" view to exclude/include VMK Forums

I've had a few folks ask this, so I figured it was worth pointing out again in a thread.

You can filter your "new posts" view to either show all of Micechat, just VMK, or just micechat regular. Here's how:

    1. Go to your userCP.
    2. On the upper left hand side of the window, click "Edit Options"

    3. Scroll about halfway down the edit options page until you get to the section titled, "Thread Display Options". At the bottom of this section will be an option to select what you view in "new posts". (Note this is the same section that also allows you to decide if you see sig lines or not.)

    4. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click 'Save Changes'.

    5. You're done. Click "New Posts" and enjoy.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Thanks for letting me know about this option, sure makes MC a lot nicer for me!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

Something tells me this should be a "sticky".

^I've heard a couple people say that. I wonder why it doesn't work for some.

I'm another person who that doesn't work for. Do you mind posting the instructions about the excluding in the URL? Like the numbers for the forums? Thanks so much!

I still can't duplicate this on users that it doesn't work for. Make sure it's set properly in your User CP. It's also good ot note that after you set it, you need to go to the bottom of the page, and click 'Save'.

                  I definitely agree.

Thanks for the tip, Morrigoon. Works great for me. I like no longer having to wade through all the VMK stuff.

I already did it a few weeks ago, thanks to another mod, and it's been glorious-ish.

Glad you guys like it. Seems a lot of people still don't know they can do that.

                              HASTIN!

Please put the Secrets, Codes and Spoilers section of the VMK area as an option to block PLEASE! I'm tired of seeing it when I click on NEW POSTS.

                              Thanks!
