  • Using the Multi-quote function

Has anyone else played around with this new feature on MiceChat?

If you click the button on a post that is to the right of the regular quote button, you can select multiple posts to quote within a particular thread. Once you have selected all the posts you would like to respond to, you simply hit the regular quote button and you have all the posts quoted at once.

I have been using this a little. It has really helped me stop double and triple posting.

Thanks for the new toy Monorail Man!
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

May the Gumballs Be with You...Always.

    NO GOATS!

LOVE IT! Huge thumbs up. Eliminates the need for opening a million windows/tabs to properly quote in a huge thread.

    Thanks!

Yeah, I think this is my absolute favorite new feature. I used to miss out on responding to posts on mulitple pages because it was too much of a pain to go back and forth and cut and paste. But now it's easy as pie!

I love that you can reply to several posters in a single reply rather than posting a whole bunch of individual replies one after the other. It really cuts down on the board clutter.

 this sounds like an infomercial, you know when they do the "real people" interviews.

But I really do like it, keeps down the clutter from having the same person post like fifteen different times just to quote people (especially when all they're doing is agreeing for the sake of agreeing and not really adding anything to the discussion)

You set the bar I could not live up to
Tonight the light is breaking through
So thank you very little and send me postcards from hell"

                It's my favorite feature lately...

that way I know I'm responding to everyone I want...

and I don't look like I'm 'posting just to raise my post count' by constantly quoting people post after post after post.....

                It's a great feature

                  Re: Using the Multi-quote function

Now if someone would write a simple primer on using it... I searched the FAQ before coming here - you'd think the VBulletin folks would write a pre-emptive FAQ entry about new features like that.

Of course, I'll learn all about it by using it, stumbling through it the first few times, but still...

                    Re: Using the Multi-quote function

Click the middle button (In between the quote and the "quick reply" buttons) for any and all of the posts you want to in the same thread. Once you've selected all of your posts (The button should turn red after clicking it) hit the "Post Reply" button on the right side (right above the Quick reply box, but below the last post in the thread) and all of your posts you marked should come up (each quote ends with "[/quote]" and it does not include any quotes the person your quoting might have used.

                    uh... or something like that...
