  • help with time change please

I have gone to the site momorail sugested to set my computer clock right, but it does not work. it says I am all updated . why am I still an hour behind on the boards here ( posts say 1 hour earlier) I set my clock manually this morning, so why is micechat still one hour behind?
I went to update, I tried, it says I am updated, but nothing happens. it says to down load xp service pack 2, but then it won't let me. whats going on ?

MiceChat is an hour behind for me too. My computer (a Mac) is all updated and fine.

You may have to download the SP2 full install: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Just download it and run it.

It's good to note that changing your computer's clock doesn't effect the time on MiceChat, but if it picks up the new DST changes or not. If you are having issues with the time, you can also manually change your DST settings in User CP > Edit Options. Just change "DST Corrections" to "On".

But if you don't have SP2 installed, you can't access other Windows Updates, and are suspectible to more spyware and viruses. Just download and install SP2. It's very important for the health of your computer.

No, it will update in the background, and then prompt you for a reboot.

it tells me not to do it

DO NOT CLICK DOWNLOAD IF YOU ARE UPDATING JUST ONE COMPUTER: A smaller, more appropriate download is now available on Windows Update. The best way to ensure you get Windows XP Service Pack 2 is by turning on the Automatic Updates feature in Windows XP today. You can use our step-by-step instructions or, if you prefer, let us do it for you.

                is this still ok?

ok, I saw where it said to let them check my computer, it says I already have service pack 2. wonder why it did not change my time ?
                    I canceled the down load.

It's possible that you don't have the correct DST hotfix installed. However, it should have been pushed if Automatic Updates is turned on.

If anyone cares, that worked for my Mac, AND I didn't have to download anything from Microsoft.
