MC'ers who fail to put specific date information in their thread titles but say today, tomorrow, a week from Tuesday, etc.so that you have obsolete titles devoid of context persisting for days on end.

Obsessively egotistic MCer's who insist on having yard-long, graphics-laden signatures because they know I just want to see evidence of their creativity or the details of their life after every one-sentence-long post they make taking up half my screen height, page after page after page and wasting my bandwidth.

      Welcome to the internet.

If you don't like the signatures, go into your profile. There is a little button to NOT show them.

On Sunday I was thinking how nice it would be to go shopping for some supplies I need for a pizza get together I am having on Friday. Then it occurred to me that Wednesday is the best day to do all my shopping because everyone knows alot of sales start on Wednesday, so i went on Wednesday.

Yes, but we shouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water...

You know the offenders... those with signatures TWO PAGES long, etc. Junkyard, your only recourse is to PM the offenders and ask them to reduce it.. maybe they'll change... you'll might get a snooty comment back though.

Signature 'abuse' (as I would call it) is tolerated here

Shouldn't this thread be titled "Posting pet peeves?" I keep thinking it's about people posting about their animals and stuff.

You call it abuse, we call it an 'open signature policy'. If the balance between 'annoying' signatures gets too high, just turn them off.

You have to remember, we're a community of friends and family.
Full dates are too clumsy for posts and such. And dont forget, all the posts are timestamped. So there's always a point of reference.

And that's why I labeled it 'as I would call it'. Turning it off is such a poor subtitute. It's a great feature - its just sad when the actions of a few distract from the overall functionality. But we've been down this path, and that's why I left it at that with the post to JY

That is what I thought. But even more thought provoking for me is that this is about the 5th post of yours O'nut that I have completely agreed with.

One of my posting pet peeves is when people do not use search to see if that topic has already been covered and just start up a new thread. For me it is a minor annoyance and life is too fun to get sucked up into the small annoyances.

                    No, they're not.

There's the same number of characters in a date (sans century) that 'Tomorrow'

And you can't see the time-stamp of the original post on the list of threads, just the last one. Can that be turned-on ?

No, I'm not enumerating all my Pet Peeves about non-posting issues, which that word order would tend to imply.

But feel free to contribute ...

I thought that was SOP, if not mandatory.
