  • Getting LOST at the D23 Expo (D23 Expo Part 1)

I'm going to Start out my D23 Blogs a little differently....With a blog just devoted to the TV Show LOST..... They had this section called LOST University which had a bunch of cool LOST props and stuff.....SO I call this getting LOST at the D23 Expo.

I used to love this show....Now I've kinda of grown a little tired of the direction it is going....and I'm kinda just sticking in there to find out how they are going to end it...

So Make sure you have your ticket --because we are heading to the land of Time Travel, Smoke Monsters and Polar Bears

From the Episode where they go back in time and I was on the plane with them

The show floor in about 10 minutes (D23 Expo 2009 Part 2)

Part 2 covers The D23 Signage--which was cool.....and about 80% of my pictures from the Show floor......I spent most of my one day (Sunday) at the 4 Day event either in Line (What would the Ultimate Disney Experience be without lines) or in Presentations.....By the time I got out of the Pixar in the Parks presenation I had to run around to see what I missed on the show floor (literally as the booths were being taken down)

There were some people dressed up ---but nothing like Comic Con...I snapped a few pictures

    Experiment 626 Gone Terribly wrong

    Jack Sparrow

    "A Practically Perfect Bagel Please"

Some guy dressed up like a Trash Can.....Just kidding...It is PUSH harassing some Disney Nerds

    Aladdin and Jasmine

Pictures on the run or Stuff I can't afford but want
    The Show Floor

This Turtle is a little out of my price range

A Castle made of Canned food

    "Your carriage awaits"

This Tea Party is puer MADDNESS

    Haunted Stitch

    "Me Wants it"

    "My Really wants it"

D23 Part 3 (The Park and Resorts Exhibit-)

The Coolest section of D23 as far as I'm concerned was the Parks and Resorts Exhibit.....The outside was covered in the coolest Attraction Poster collage that I wish was wallpaper.

I have weeks worth of computer wallpapers now

I love Attraction posters Can you tell

The entrance was a giant TV screen that showed Disneyland clips then opened up like a portal in time

Test animation on cars that will be in Carsland

Inside we got a glimpse of things to come...Like Carsland going in DCA in 2012....Very cool

"Let us ride to Carsland ...It's only a model"

Cool Audio -Animatronics were on display

Including the elusive Lucky the Dinosaur....

      Eyeballs

      Severed Heads

      Naked Abe Lincoln

They had a cool model of the Hawaiian Disney resort that is being built on the islands

This is exactly what the crab from my recent poem was talking about

There was this cool Storytellers Sandbox --where they could tell stories projecting images into the sand ...The sample was a story about Sea Turtles

A very original idea I thought

The little baby turtles following the light

      Meanwhile over in Asia
Concept art from Hong Kong Disney
      Mystic Manor looks amazing

Grizzly Coaster....I wish this was going in here

      a href="http://s646.photobucket.com/albums/uu187/pineappleman11/?action=view&current=D23052.jpg" mce_href="http://s646.photobucket.com/albums/uu187/pineappleman11/?action=view&current=D23052.jpg" mce_href="http://s646.photobucket.com/albums/uu187/pineappleman11/?action=view&current=D23052.jpg" mce_href="http://s646.photobucket.com/albums/uu187/pineappleman11/?action=view&current=D23052.jpg" mce_href="http://s646.photobucket.com/albums/uu187/pineappleman11/?action=view&current=D23052.jpg" target="_blank">

The best part about this exhibit was that they actually had Imagineers in the exhibit to explain things to the guests...Very cool.

Up next my final blog on the subject.....(A Day with John Lasseter)

D23 A Day with John Lasseter Part 4 (Promoting Disney)

So basically the majority of my day was spent with John Lasseter as my guide to the world of Disney.....

The first presentation on Disney/Pixar animation (no pics they took away all cell phones and cameras for this)
John Lasseter in typical Hawaiian shirt.....This guy so totally rocks.....Talked about all the upcoming animation.....

We saw clips and or art for Princess and the Frog
Toy Story 3, Tinkerbell movies, Winnie the Pooh, Cars II , Rapunsel, etc....Very cool presentation with John Lasseter as our guide...

I visited the small but cool Disney Treasures exhibit...That had things like the Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues....Jack Sparrows costume, etc.....No pictures were aloud inside but Herbie was outside

            I love this bug

Movie promos were all around with props from upcoming films

A dragon from Sorcerer's Apprentice with Nick Cage
one of the many stars that were at the Expo on Friday for Studios presentation which I would have loved

            Alice stuff

            Love me some Lightcycle action

Prep and Landing the Tv special that was mentioned in Lasster Animated speech

            A Christmas Carol

Then it was more John Lasseter action in Pixar in the Parks discussion with Pixar folks and imagineers talks about all the Pixar rides and attractions present and future.....Very cool

Lasseter to me is like the modern day Walt so glad he is involved in Disney parks and movies now

My one day at D23 was a lot of fun....Wish I could have seen more.....A hope to see more of it again next year

Thank you so much for posting these, Brad! I didn't bring a camera most days to avoid taking time to pick it up since I always had something I wanted to do right after the arena presentations. These photos are fantastic!
I'm attempting to watch and review every Disney movie ever made in my blog called The Disney Films. You can also follow me on Twitter for news on upcoming Disney films.

Great pictures! If they do this again next year I hope I can go!

Um... I wonder if any of those banners they used outside will end up on eBay? Um...

I missed the Mupppet presentation because of the lovely picking up your camera from the Yellow balloon table attraction....

Wonderful Trip Report! I'm glad to see the Lost items on display, and those Main Street Olszewski displays are amazing! If only I had the money....
