Well, even though that price seems expensive, it's actually cheaper than buying the DVD sets individually. Sure, you don't get the tins, but you get all but one of the sets. It's worth it, if you can actually afford it.

Nice packaging, good price for all you get ... but what do I do with the 11 sets of Treasures I already paid $200+ for?

          So much for "limited edition".

I haven't believed anything of that nature since the Electrical Parade "Glowed Away Forever"

While I may end up paying a bit for the few titles I missed, I'd rather have them in individual cases as opposed to this book, since I nearly have them all.

Nice set, not a terrible price, but no thanks.

                    I did.

Saw the Treasures set at the Expo. Nice looking but I have all the sets individually, including the Zorros that came out yesterday in black tins.

If I didn't already have them all I'd be jumping at this set, money permitting. It's an amazing collection of Disney history. $500 is less than I've invested by buying these all when released. Of course, $500 at one pop is tougher to do than spreading the $ out over many years.

Hopefully this set will make some people very happy!

A lot of people are having problems with their orders being canceled because they live outside the US - I've slipped through the cracks somehow... I think it's because I placed it so early and phoned to confirm to be sure. I really want this set as I wasn't as savvy to US DVD when the first waves came out and I only really learnt about them by Wave 4 and by that time the set I wanted most, Goofy, had been long gone.

While you can join D23 from the UK, Disney Store doesn't ship Region 1 DVDs outside of the US and Canada, so unfortunately you won't be able to buy this Treasures DVD set.

It really is a good deal for someone who doesn't own any of them. If you do the math, it's less than $20 per set. I've been collecting since the beginning, so this doesn't have much appeal to me, but it's nice that they did this for Disney fans. It's better than paying more than $100 for some of the early sets on eBay.

I have about 10 of the tins, but to complete my collection would cost more than $500. I jumped at the D23 offer immediately after the Expo and cannot wait for it to arrive. I spoke with a guy on the phone from DisneyStore.com, and he said he thought they would be shipped earlier than stated. Has anyone else heard this?

This is stupid. Disney should instead release exclusive treasures sets for D23 members instead of putting the entire set avaliable at a price that is more than most members are willing to spend.

I'm also assuming that most of the individuals who are D23 members are the same people that purchase Walt Disney Treasures as soon as they come out. So why target a makret in a way that doesn't add value to your company?

I've been really dissapointed witht the lack of creativity in the D23 boutique-they can do allot better.

Re: D23 treasures DVD set on preorder

For those who are interested in pre-ordering this, I was just informed that it will still ship on November 24 and not the posted date of December 8.

I was confused about the date, for when I placed my order in September after the Expo the shipping date was in November. Being a student, I will be in two different locations in November and December as I return home for a long break. I contacted DisneyStore.com for clarification, for I do not want a $500 shipment sitting at any location for weeks at a time (plus, I want to watch some of the dvd's asap!). I was told it will be available to ship on November 24 and will ship immediately once available.

As for lack of creativity in the D23 boutique, I personally could do with less pins. This dvd set, however, is exactly what I was hoping for when I joined last March. It is the only D23 exclusive merchandise I have considered purchasing, and I consider the pricetag a steal. I would love to see more offerings of the actual product created during Walt's lifetime, such as obscure live-action movies not yet released or even a box-set of films from a certain time frame, maybe by decade. Leonard Maltin could walk us through the decade, giving us a chronological history of the development and influences of each film. I had heard that the current Zorro wave was to be the last of the Walt Disney Treasures. Perhaps D23 boutique could be the place to continue it on a much smaller scale.

Releasing future Walt Disney Treasures sets as D23 exclusives would be alienating to fans who have collected the series for 9 years who maybe don't want to be D23 members. Remember that not every Disney fan is interested in D23.

And apparently a lot of D23 members haven't been collecting the Treasures because a lot of them are ordering this. Also, the line started in 2001 when DVD was still fairly new, so many Disney fans didn't have access to some of the earlier sets that now go for more than $100 on eBay, so this is a great way to give those fans a chance to own the material.

A member over at Ultimate Disney sent Leonard Maltin an email asking if there will be a 10th wave and he said that they are currently restoring material for the next batch, so Zorro is not the end of the Treasures line. However, Mr. Maltin can't reveal what the next wave will include since it is still a year away.

This is me. I have been collecting the tins for years now, but the ones I am missing are going for well over $500 to complete my collection.

Good news indeed! The WDT dvds let me recreate my own Disney Channel as I remember it growing up in the 80s, without having to stay up late or get up early for the good stuff.
