  • Access to disneystore.com from the UK

I am D23 member living in the UK and I would like to buy some D23 stuff for Xmas presents. But since yesterday, the US website (http://www.disneystore.com) is now not available in the UK. I get automatically redirected to the UK website (http://www.disneystore.co.uk). D23 stuff is not available on the UK website !

I can get to the US Disney site (http://disney.go.com) by using the override (http://disney.go.com/index?intoverride=true). But clicking the store link from this takes me back to the UK site again.

Does anybody have the same problem or can anyone offer a solution ?

    Very

log on to the site through an anonymous proxy site that's US based. Do a google search for "proxy sites" and you will find a good list.

Yes, that works fine. But I would only ever view websites through a proxy server. I don't trust them to send personal data such as credit card details.

And anyway, why should I need to do this ?

Disney is a global company and surely they expect people to buy stuff from their US website who don't live in the States ? I have never known them to miss a marketing trick that allows them to sell more merchandise. If this can't be solved (I have mailed 'guest services') then they are going to lose a proportion of their income.

I have the same problem here in Holland, every link redirects to Disneystore.co.uk.

I've sent an e-mail to Guest Services and posted a wall post on the D23 Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/DisneyD23 and I've joined MiceChat so I could follow this thread, I'm really curious how this will play out...

Just signed up to the site after suffering the same problem (searched on google for help and found this site).

Yep, can use a proxy but like poster above - wouldn't want too over security fears.

Come on Disney. I spend hundreds of pounds every year on your US site, now I'm being sent to the UK Site which has very poor content.

            Any solutions appreciated.

              Fixed people.

              Disney apologised.

You can access the store here:

Disney Store | Official Site for Disney Merchandise

              Thanks Disney!

Oh wow, that's a quick fix, haven't even gotten a reply from Guest Services yet! Cool!

Now that I've signed up, might as well stick around for the other D23 topics :-D

(edit: oh man, I'm having no luck so far with my D23 membership.. I can access the store again but it doesn't recognize me as a D23 member.... I'd better mail them again I guess..)

I'm from Austria and I had the same problem, but five days ago it was still possible to access the US site. We have also sent an email. Great that Disney fixed it so quick. Now I have also signed on to D23.

Glad to hear they realised the mistake and removed the re-direct. Of course the proper solution would be to have a D23 Europe shop site so none of us have to pay the extortionate shipping fees.

It's good to see that Disney are listening ... listening to the sound of $$$ pouring down the drain instead of into their bank account.

In all fairness, I take my hat off to a company who can solve a small (but irritating) problem as quickly as that. True customer service.

                        Well listen to this:

I got 1 email with the link above saying how sorry they were etc.

THEN...this morning I got another that said you can't access the site from outside the US due to 'legal reasons' and I should use the UK Store.

Glad to see it is working again but 2 different emails on the same issue stating different things?!

I've already ordered my D23 membership and I already got the confirmation email.

So hopefully Disney will not install the "redirect" anymore.
