  • Dave Smith Retirement Dinner Review (and Sip and Stroll)

We got our Dave Smith pins in the mail today.

I'll be back with more photos and my full review as soon as I can.

These pins were ordered by D23 and intended to be distributed at the dinner, but apparently were held up in customs, so they had to mail them to us.

HTML code doesn't work in this forum. Try copy and pasting the IMG code from Photobucket.

Re: Dave Smith Retirement Dinner Review (and Sip and Stroll)

We had a great time attending the D23 Retirement Dinner for Dave Smith, and the Sip and Stroll event. Although I had only met Dave briefly a year ago through a castmember friend, it really felt like he just wanted to be with "the people" and share his thoughts and reflections with us. He walked among the crowd without any official entourage, and didn't simply make an appearance and then disappear to the back - he was out and among the crowd the entire weekend. Getting to see the VIP lounge at the Living Seas was also a cool bonus. I thought this was a perfect example of a great D23 event - a unique experience that only true "Disney Fans" would be able to appreciate.

These are my pictures from the Sip and Stroll. It began in the American Adventure rotunda Friday night with a reception. On Saturday we started at the new Mexico Restaurant, then moved to Odyssey for a presentation on the new fragrance store in France, beers from Germany, and the chef from Victoria and Alberts - including a sample food tasting. Take-aways were beers and special cooking salts. Then strolling with patches from Mexico, France, Italy, and United Kingdom. Fireworks viewing with Desserts and special glasses that made the fireworks look like exploding specular mickey mouse designs - tried to put the glasses on the camera - not sure if you can really tell.
