I'd like to start by seeing myself there - I missed out at the last one and hope my schedule permits me to see second round of the Disney expo.

          >>Wow, you've been thinking about this a lot, haven't you :-)<<

Well, that list was totally spontaneous off-the-top-my-head when I noticed the thread...

But of course -- I've been wanting the same unreleased Walt DVD and CD titles for years (decades?) now. And it's long been clear which Walt Disney Legends have not been honored. And we all want "Song of the South" since 1986 -- and a better Tomorrowland since 1998.

If the D23 Expo could be a venue to help check some of these things off the list, it will have served a valiant purpose!

I'm going to keep this simple and just agree 100% with everything Merlin wrote...Plus:

1 -- I hope they make better use of the large arena for events. Last time, there were a lot of presentations that I know people wanted to get into but couldn't, due to limited space in the smaller conference rooms. Put Richard Sherman on the big stage!!!

2 -- They need to "repeat" more of the presentations. There was just too much good stuff happening at the same time, so it often felt like a great big Sophie's Choice moment when deciding what to do.

3 -- I hope that they drop the stupid "no cameras" rule from the arena. 'Nuff said.

4 -- Personally, I'm looking forward to the trivia contest, the Legends awards, and the film showings. Plus, Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar both put on pretty cool presentations last time. I can't wait to see how they'll top themselves in 2011.

Many of the same things others have mentioned and I would really love to see a preview and panel of the Newsies show..that would make the whole trip worthwhile.

MJ -- some advice if you see Tommy Kirk this year: Do not mention his work with Disney. When I met him at the D23 convention the last time I told him that I loved his work in Village of the Giants, and that I used to love watching that movie whenever they showed it (on channel 5) if I remember. Let me tell you he looked pretty bored but when I mentioned this his eyes lit up and we had a good 5 or 10 minute conversation about his other non-Disney films. I remember talking to him a bit about Mars Needs Women, part of which was filmed in Newport Beach, which he didnt even know since he wasn't around during those scenes.

How fun. I enjoy Tommy in everything he did. Walt was very lucky to have him, as he made even the most absurd premise seem grounded, sincere and accessible for the audience, a rare ability. His performances in "Old Yeller" and "Swiss Family Robinson" in particular will ensure he is always remembered.

Now if we could only get "Horsemasters" and "Escapade in Florence" (Tommy and Annette on a Vespa!) on DVD...

They finally added some information on the D23 Expo website - specifically, "show floor" information. It's a start.

They have also posted the Things to Know, which includes the show floor hours. The hours are 10 to 7, with early entry at 9 for members (and their parties). I seem to recall that the hours in 2009 were 9 to 5, with early entry for members at 8. -- Suzanne

Interesting to note, seems like there are fewer rooms listed that are being used than last time. Maybe they are going to open the walls between the rooms to make them larger. That would be GREAT. Fewer shutouts for the different panels.

Also -- daily screenings of "Disneyland Showtime"!

                          - - plus screenings of former park attraction and pre-show films.

(and of course, DVDs to buy of all)

Not counting the under-attended ABC theater, the one venue that appears to be discontinued is the Walt Disney Theater, which was the large room on the 3rd floor. I would hope that there will still have at least 4 venues and using the 3rd floor space should not mean that they woudln't be able to expand the size of the 2nd floor venues (Storytellers Theater and Stage 23). More choices is a good thing! -- Suzanne
