If it was just theme park trivia, I'd probably compete. But I'm not nearly as good at general Disney trivia as many of you are.

So, who thinks they've got a shot?

Trivial Pursuit? If only Wink Martindale could host!

I really think the category/wedge style of trivia could create an interesting game.

Good luck to those who play!

This is the same contest as the previously announced as the D23 Ultimate Disney Trivia Tournament. I was hoping it was a separate one.

Looks like D23 get Hasbro to sponsor the tournament. Wonder if they will use Trivial Pursuit provided questions or if they will go ahead with the more difficult trivia questions like they have been previewing at the Destination Ds?

The official rules are now online. They're expecting up to 3,500 people to play Round 1. Yikes!

Re: D23 Expo - Trivial Pursuit contest and prize announced

The Final will consist of two rounds of questioning:
              1. The Hasbro's Trivial Pursuit Disney Edition Round - Each contestant will individually be asked six Disney trivia questions, one each from the following Trivial Pursuit Disney Edition categories: Heroes & Heroines, Once Upon a Time, Monsters & Villains, Supporting Stars, Places and Props, and Wonderful World of Disney. Score 2 points per correct answer with no penalty for an incorrect answer. Incorrectly answered questions are thrown open for the other finalists to buzz in.
              2. The Lightning McQueen Round a final 5-minute-long buzzer round with 1 point per correct answer. If a contestant buzzes in and is incorrect, or unable to answer, he/she loses 1 point, and the question is thrown open to the remaining contestants. There is a three second time limit to answer once a contestant has buzzed in.
So it seems like at least the final round questions come directly from the Trivial Pursuit game. It could be that they are just using the categories, but I'm guessing not.

Wonder if it would be a good study method to go out and buy the game and look through all the questions? Even if you can't memorize all the answers, some might stick!
