  • D23 day at Mickey's of Glendale

Has anyone ever attending this event? I am planning on going on April 13 and was wondering if it is worth the drive or if it will be a huge cluster f*^k.

It's fun to be at WDI. Arrive after 12 and the register line should be tolerable. They only have 3 registers so the line to pay can be stupid long AND slow. They might have exclusive pins that may sell out so that would be the only reason to show up at 8.

Imagineering also has a sale at the annual fan club meeting in July. Outside of actually being at Imagineering, WDI merchandise can be purchased then along with the sale at the D23 Expo.

I read on the D23 website that the next shopping day will be June 8th.
I would like to get another WDI messenger bag. I bought one at the last D23 expo, but I was hoping they would have improved it (I.e. replace the klutzy buckle closure with velcro).
How is the book selection at Mickey's?

They have a numbered wristband system now at the D23 Saturday. I arrived at 7:45 am and they gave you a numbered wristband. They allowed everyone to enter the courtyard area. The Starbuck's and restrooms were open. There was no standing in a long line out in the parking lot; instead you could sit at the tables around the courtyard. They called in groups of 25 about every 20 minutes into the store. It was 11:30 before I was allowed into the store with my number 237 wristband.
