  • Review: Wicked

    Date: Sat, Oct. 25, 08.

    Time: 8:00p.m.

    Place: Pantages Theater

Note: No pictures, sorry. They did not allow photography.

Review: I went with my 2 friends to watch the play, Wicked. AMAZING. It was wonderful and one of the best musicals I think I've ever seen! We got good seats, they were center stage 3 rows from the back, and we could see everything going on. I now LOVE the song "Defying Gravity" it is really great!
I HIGHLY recommend this play to all...there was a couple of slow parts that only lasted for a few moments and then it continued onto humor and pure talent. Teal Wicks played the main role of Elphaba, and had a BEAUTIFUL and powerful voice!

Also: I got this AWESOME apron after the show....

    Re: Review: Wicked

Glad you enjoyed the show. We've seen it twice in LA and once in Chicago. Are planning on going to see it in LA once more before it closes in January, especially considering the original LA Glenda and Elphaba are back for the final 3 months.

Well, just from LA. It goes on to San Francisco next; don't panic.

Thank you! I still have yet to see it, although I own the soundtrack and know all the songs.

I looked online, the original LA cast begins on Friday (Oct 31st).

Don't forget, next year the Pantages is showing a few different shows, starting with Phantom in January.

Got tickets for early Feb yesterday on the pre-sale.

Wicked is one of my favorite shows. I got to see the original cast back in march of 2004. INCREDIBLE. I also saw it 2 nights in a row in San Francisco. Eden Espinosa is the best. It's coming back to SF in a couple months and I'm already going twice.

Great, GREAT show! I've seen it 4 times (3 in Chicago and once in LA). I think I'm obsessed with the show. Ha ha! It's got so many catchy tunes and the casts that I've seen perform the show are so incredibly talented. It's a wonderful evening (or matinee) at the theatre. Can't wait to see it again!

Went to see Wicked this past Saturday. Outstanding lighting and sets. Very talented cast. Music not at all memorable. Once is enough for me to see this over-rated musical.

I have yet to see Teal Wicks as Elphaba. So far, the my favorite is Eden Espinosa as Elphie and Meg Hilty as Glinda. It's a really good show. Shame that Avenue Q won the Tony for best musical over Wicked. Then again, what show is Broadway's number 1 money maker?

                            Glad you enjoyed it!

Great review. I'm going to go lotto on Sunday. If we win, it will be my 6th or 7th time seeing it. Scarlet Rhapsody, Teal Wicks is amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing her in whatever show she does next.

Wicked is such an amazing show. I saw it in NYC last year, and fell in love with it. I had to buy the soundtrack during intermission, that's how much I loved the music. I hope to see it again before I move to FL (hopefully in May).

Saw it with the large crowd of MC'ers on a magic Saturday afternoon a couple of years back.

Great memories, great show, great day!

                                    Re: Review: Wicked

I saw it in London back in August.

Great score, great script, great performances, great sets, lighting, effects, costumes etc....

but it somehow left me cold.

Perhaps it was all the hype (which included booking to see it in April and not getting there due to ill health) but I could not see what all the fuss was about. It was very good but I did not think it equalled the sum of its parts.
The young girls (obviously fans and frequent visitors to the show) who screamed at every other song/entrance/recognisable line did not help me enjoy it - they only added to my puzzlement.

I would not rate it within my top 5 West End visits - the short-lived Witches of Eastwick probably gets the top spot which may say a lot about me. Or not.
