  • Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings novelization cancelled

LucasArts and Lucasfilm has cancelled the novelization to the video game Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings :thumbdown. Apparently Rob MacGregor already completed the novel, but it won't get printed. There is a little info about the cancellation over at the Raven:
    TheRaider.net - Video Games News

A petition has been started to get the book published.
:wave:If you are an Indy fan and you want to help get the new Indy novel published, sign the petition:
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings Novel Petition Petition

Rob MacGregor also mentions the cancellation and the petition on his blog:
SYNCHRONICITY: Indiana Jones and the Last Synchronicity

I hope Lucasfilm and LucasArts has a change of heart and allows the book to be published.:beg:

It's funny, a lot of people are bringing up The Force Unleashed. How about Shadows of the Empire? It had a PC/N64 game, a novel, a 6-part Dark Horse comic book, toys, and... a soundtrack.

I'm hoping some more Micechatters sign the petition. I feel bad for Rob, I mean, he completed the novel, and now Lucas won't release it?

So we got 139 signatures on the petition. Hopefully we can get a whole lot more. I signed it. I was lucky number 13.

If published, this would be the first Indiana Jones novel (non-movie adaption), in about 10 years. The last one was Indiana Jones and the Secret of the Sphinx by Max McCoy and was published in 1999.

There's also Indiana Jones and the Army of the Dead by Steve Perry coming out in September. It will take place in the 19 year gap between Last Crusade and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and will also feature Ray Winstone's George "Mac" McHale.

It's great that we are getting Army of the Dead (which hopefully won't be cancelled as well), but I also want to see Staff of Kings published too.
