  • Del-Fi Records legend Bob Keane dies at 87

I had the huge privilege of getting to know and work with Bob Keane thanks to my pal Elliott. He was extremely generous with his terrific stories of rock 'n roll's golden era and music legends. His collection of hawaiian shirts were a thing of beauty. His ongoing efforts on behalf of Ritchie Valens and his family was unwavering and heartfelt. A truly unique figure in Los Angeles and American music history.
Thanks Bob, miss you. The Legend Lives On.

A musician in his own right, Keane founded L.A. label Del-Fi Records and helped nurture the budding career of the young rocker Valens. He also worked with Bobby Fuller, Frank Zappa and Barry White.,0,2711217.story
