  • Things You Should Remember About HP:HBP Before Reading HP:DH

As I've started reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows it occurred to me that I hadn't read "Half Blood Prince" in quite some time (like over a year). And having just seen "Order of the Phoenix" at the movies that story is fresh in mind. I feel like I need a little refresher course before I can go any further on Harry's adventure in year 7 before I brush up on the important events in Book 6.

What are somethings every HP fan should know before reading HP: DH? Ive already read book 6 so theres no need to be coi in letting it all hang out. No spoilers here. Dont be shy. Let me have it the way it went down. I just need a few good reminders. Can you help?

Obviously RAB, RAB's locket, that Sirius left everything to Harry, that bill and fluer are getting married, that Tonks and Lupin decided they're in love
I don't know what else to say without giving anything away.

Don't worry about giving anything away... Im looking for a general overview of Book 6. Like CliffsNotes if you will.

Can you go into more detail about RAB? I remember that those initials exist but beyond that I don't recall anything.

-When Harry and Dumbledore go to find the locket they believe to be a horcrux, it turns out to be a fake and there is a note inside (see signature for a copy) signed RAB. Harry and crew are still trying to figure out who RAB is.
-Dumbledore comes back wearing a ring, that turns out to have been a horcrux and it gives him a whithered hand that's black and useless.
-Dumbledore spends a lot of time telling Harry about the horcruxes and what he believes them to be: the diary, locket, ring, the snake, hufflepuffs goblet and leaves the last two unconfirmed. He makes the case that it should be something from Ravenclaw but is not sure what.
-Snape has done an unbreakable vow which turns out to be that he must kill Dumbledore if Draco fails, which he does
-Scrimgeour is the new Minister of Magic and he wants Harry to be a poster boy for the Ministry, assuring people that he is the chosen one to bring down Voldemort
-Harry dates Ginny briefly, then breaks up with her saying its too dangerous
-Hermione and Ron learn about the horcruxes and agree to go with Harry to find them
        -Aragog dies
-Harry begins to excell at potions due to a borrowed copy of the half-blood prince's potion book. Snape begins to suspect Harry and Harry hides his copy of the potion book in a cupboard in the room of requirement

That Snape is the half-blood Prince.
            A signature should go here.

In Book 5, the kids find a locket at Sirius's house and he shows his family tree to Harry, including his dead Death Eater brother.

I hadn't read HP&HBP since it came out so I read it again before I started the new (and last ) book.
