  • I saw THE RITZ on Broadway

    Hi All -
Yesterday we took a trip to NYC to see the revival of Terrance McNally's show - THE RITZ on Broadway.

It is in the old Studio 54 space. When you enter the theater, it was neat to see the glass doors still had the Studio 54 logo (frosted). Very cool. A very nice venue to see a show.

The show was fantastic - well cast and very funny. Kevin Chamberlin was brillant and Rosie Perez was funny but her stage voice needs some help. It almost seemed like she was yelling instead of projecting her voice. Brooks Ashmanskas who played Chris was (dare I say) FABULOUS and the proof was the thunderous applause and cheers from the audience at curtain call. Patrick Kerr who played Claude ("Frasier" fame. He was Knoll) was also outstanding and also recieved cheers from the audience.

The set was very clever and well done. top notch all the way.
Congratulations to a great cast and show! I highly recommend it.

It's produced by RTC, not Disney. I request that it be moved to the Theatre thread in the Entertainment section, if you please.

EDIT: Thanks, IndianaJenn for the shift!

Thanks for the review Dennis. This is definitely on my list of plays to see as I keep hearing really good word of mouth about it.

      Thanks!

Go see it soon my friend! It closes soon.

We bought a subscription to the Roundabout theater and now have three more shows to look forward to.
