Actually, I worked with Jim. It is spelled Nabors. And he is the nicest guy you would ever want to know.

Your post is most unkind, when the airwaves are filled with truly untalented people. And you can thank Lanza for being one of the first to bring about the popularization of song out of the classics into pop. Sort of the Buddy Holly of his day, odd as it may seem.

I urge you to seek maturity teachings.

Any country music. I swear, I hear "twang" and I get dizzy and want to barf. Steel guitars, fiddles, cowboy boots and hats, tassles, fringe, Wranglers, Ford truck commercial, I think it's all gross... :yuck: (except the movie Urban Cowboy, I die for that movie, it's all deliciously horrific)

Yet, ABBA....I can listen to ABBA and Bread and The Carpenters and be completely happy and at peace with the world.

Mario Lanza was extremely popular and was an operatic tenor. If operatic singing makes your ears bleed, then you either need to see a doctor or you have a severe inability to recognize musical talent.

Country music is the only place where you can find good ballads anymore. And music with a sense of humor. yes, some of it twangs. But some of it is absolutely Beautiful. Try Martina McBride's "God's Will," and then try to stick your generalization about the genre on it. Wouldn't work.

Radiobarry has it right: Some of us like different things. Doesn't make it awful. Unless it is rap music, but...
