Anyone going to see Garth Brooks?

I am not a huge country music fan, but I have always loved Garth Brooks and heard what a great performer he is, so when I read in USA today a few weeks ago that he would be performing at the new Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO in November, I knew I had to try and get tickets. That first show sold out in less than a minute, but 10 minutes later another show was added and I got tickets to that one, 6 to be exact. He is playing a total of 9 shows with Trisha Yearwood the first and second weeks of November. I am so excited to go and I really hope he pulls out all the stops.

So will any other Micechatters be there? Also, is there anything cool or fun to do in Kansas City? I have never been but we are thinking about taking a few days and just exploring, so we would love some suggestions for things to do!

I'll take lots of pictures, our seats are really good!

I did a quick search online and found there is a Disneyland exhibit opening that week and Avenue Q is playing also! If I can talk my hubby into that it should be a fun weekend, I am so excited!

Have fun! I'd see him in concert but wouldn't travel for it. Is he going to be touring again or is this a one time show?

I used to work for a Southern California country music station. I got to see Garth twice when he played in the LA area. Not only is the music great, but he's a great showman who keeps the fans in the cheap seats in mind, too. "Cheap" is a relative term for concerts these days, of course.

If you get the chance, I highly recommend taking advantage of an opportunity to see him live.

But then again, I've got friends in low places.

The tickets were 27.50 through Ticketmaster!!!! It was originally a one time concert, but they added 8 additional shows because demand was so high. I have no idea if he intends to tour again which is why I decided I had to go. Kansas City is only a 5 hour drive.

Considering it took us 3 hours to get from our house to Irvine Meadows when we saw Rush in July, 5 hours doesn't seem bad.

Have a great time DQ! I like Garth Brooks too, and I don't particulary like country music. But I always like his songs

If it was 1992, I'd be all over it!

I was one of the lucky ones who got through in the 8 minutes it took to sell out his show here in Portland back then. It was fun, even though I don't like country music. Martina McBride opened and I met her. God that was a long time ago. I'm old.

I saw Garth in Salt Lake City about 10 years ago - he was amazing. He never stopped running around the stage.

I would fly to KC to see him. I'd fly anywhere!
He did a charity show in Vegas a few years ago. Tickets were only $25!!! I unfortunately had another trip that weekend so I couldn't go.
Hopefully he'll add a few more stops to this non-tour

He is going to be at the Staples Center here in LA on Jan 26th, tickets go on sale today(sat 12/1/07) at 9am, Gonna try online and pray I can get tickets.

I have always wanted to see him, I hear he is an awesome performer.

They added shows for 6pm and 10 pm on Friday and a earlier show on Saturday!....sweeeeeeeeeeet!!!!

That will make 4 shows and 2 tries when I've come so close to being able to see him and I can't see him
I blame stupid basketball for this, since his only options were to add shows on Fri, not Sun or Mon or Tues or....

Woo-hoo! I have tickets for the first and last shows: Friday at 6pm and Saturday at 9pm. I can't believe he's doing 5 concerts in two days. That's absolutely crazy!!! It's all for a wonderful cause though, so I'm very happy about it.

NNL, I'm sorry the dates didn't work out for you. I was hoping they would schedule the concerts at the new Nokia Live Theatre just across from Staples, as that venue has a huge window of open dates at the same time. But for some reason they'd rather cram it all into Staples in two days. Coincidentally, the Saturday date is the day of the MiceChat Gumball Rally. That's probably a huge conflict for a few MiceChatters.
