  • Rock Band question

    Hi there!

My kids and I absolutely LOVE Rock Band! One of our pads for the top of the drums has come loose and we have to fix it quite often.

Is there a special type of glue that we should put under it to stop the constant loosening?

    Thanks!

    Super???

I've never had that problem though. You haven't had yours long, I would try and look online to see about sending them back. How hard are you hitting those things anyway.

To be honest Gregg, I hit them way too hard. It seems I'm not cut out for a jazz band. Thanks goodness the game is Rock Band!

We've had that happen a few times here...helloooo house full of teenage boys, lots of pent up energy. You can try super glue, it should hold out for a bit.

Thanks! We will give it a go the next time I wreck it.

I recommend Fing'rs Brush-On Nail Glue. This is what I use to fix my talons whenever one breaks. This is pretty hardcore glue, so DON'T SPILL ANY. It dries almost instantly & will bond just about anything except certain plastics. Whatever it won't work on, it melts out of spite. It'll also kill your family if you look at it the wrong way.

You could also try goop or another of the silicone-type glues. They are more flexible than super glues.

I tried some brush on Krazy glue tonight, hopefully it will set tomorrow. I hit the skins much lighter this evening but Aaron got on and abused the red one to ruin. Perfect time to glue em' up.

P.S. Thanks everyone for the great ideas!!

Chad, I talked to the kid and he said that even with super glue his still came off(took awhile though)then he tried double sided tape and used that for awhile.

Great. I'll give that a go when the glue gives out.

You can also turn strips of strong adhesive tape into doulble sided by rolling each strip into a loop (adhesive side on the outside). Transparent packaging tape will do the job.

Unfortunately, the pad is just going to continue to break off and you may break the sensor unless you and family learn to hit it more softly

Pounding on them just slows you down anyhow and makes you play worse. One approach might be to think of your drumming not as pounding but as a controlled dropping motion followed immediately by a controlled lifting motion. Not sure if that makes sense to you or not (guitarist here trying to sound as if I know something about drums).

I'll tell you what, don't ever buy the Guitar Hero drum sets under any circumstances as you have the same pad breaking tendencies not to mention cymbals breaking off.

                        Rock on!

Just out of curiosity, what skill level does everyone play on and what are some of your better scores?

I play expert guitar, expert bass and medium, occasionally hard, drums.

By the way, Guitar Hero 5 comes out next week!!!

I'm a guitar hero guy too. It's just harder!

But I like the graphics of the band members in Rock Band WAAAAAAAAAAY more.
