Okay, so when the Graveyard Tree, Madam Leota set and Purple Mansion Rocker became buyable along with the Fantasyland Retro Pin, Safari Rug, and Hippo Rug...I was upset, but it didn't bug me too much. After all, the Mansion Quest was from a tour and the others were a prize pack that replaced the tour. Things that were eventually going to go away. But it still irked me a little. Especially since the Fantasyland Retro Pin and Leota were not sellable.

But the release of the Red Press through tonight's quest really got to me. Okay, so you pay money to get into a park...not directly tied to VMK quests. So if, say, the purple aladdin chair got a limited release like this...no biggie.

But the Red Press isn't a regular quest...it's a get-with-purchase card. Not only that, but (at DLR) you have to walk all the way to the Pooh Corner to get it. AND it has to be prepackaged candy. O_o Do you know how many gummy mickeys I've bought over the past few months just for these presses?

Ever wonder why nobody bothers to buy the shirts at the Star Trader shop in the park? Because the Mickey T-Shirt card you get for it is buyable! Who wants to pay real money for a virtual item that you can get for free in the game anyway?

Sometimes I'm left scratching my head at some of VMK's decisions. Why not the purple ones? Or blue?

I am sorry for you. But I guess they were right when they were thinking about bringing back rares, or hard to get's. But also the quest was for a limited time, and not everyone saw it. The thing that gets me is the fact that there weren't any minigames to play or magic needed. Though I did not have these before, I still think, since I knew these were pretty rare, that minigames would have been a MUST. For something this good, you shouldn't have to just waltz around VMK and get something that was extremely rare before. I partially agree with you, but also maybe they wanted people who never go to the parks to have chance to get the items.

I know exactly how you feel! I got mine from buying candy too! In WDW you have to buy it from the candy store in Frontierland. Now, my CM was so nice she gave me 2 cards but still... Of course, give me any excuse to buy cotton candy and I'm there but now this item is no longer rare. Now I'm not into the whole "rare is better" thing. I buy and trade for items I like, not necessarily because of what somone else thinks they are worth. But maybe, on the bright side, this means they will be releasing some really cool, new, rare items or just new items in general. We can hope!

well, i can't say i'm upset with it, because my chances of making it DLR in my lifetime are slim, and in the next year or two, nonexistant....

But i agree, there should have been a few minigames, even if they had low scores. there should have been a little more effort required to get them.

But i guess it's better than it being a weekend-long quest...

Accually. You can get retired mansion and pirate quest cards from the Scaventure hunt game in the Cave section of VMK inside Innoventions at Disneyland. Its a special game that you only have to aks to play, they don't announce it.

Thats how i got your gold collection though. From the game. It was easy! no one was there, only me and my non-vmk friend who i made an account for that day. I won like a piece of cake and got about 3 sets of gold collections, mansion and old pirate quest.

Shhh. don't tell anyone about the game.

I played that and got a stupid cactus chair. Oh well - and at least you guys got candy!!!?? The lady at the Pooh Candy Store was really nice to us - we just got rice krispie treats and she gave us a card anyway.

That only started 2 months ago. Before that, they were only allowed to give out Green Cactus Chair, Adventureland Retro Pin and Fantasyland Retro Pin cards for the scavenger hunts.

Just to tell everyone, I bought a couple lollipops, and they gave me 2 purple penny presses, not red.
