Have you read Yavn's newsletter this week? If you haven't... DO!
There is some exciting stuff coming. :yea:
"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."
-Art Linkletter July 17, 2005-
I was going to make a step-by-step guide for this popular quest from yesterday and put it on Expolsion. I didn't because I was tired and it wouldn't be fair to the owner.
Whats this gold star thing? I didnt see anything about it?
under yavn speaks:
There's nothing worse than to have our hard work or your game experience spoiled by cheaters or people who don't care about the VMK community. You CAN make a difference.
With that in mind I can tell you about a new program we're getting ready to roll out that rewards good deeds in the game. That's right, if we see a player do something special or out of the ordinary to make the community better you may just win a VMK Gold Star. I've asked all the hosts and mods to keep an eye out for players that go above and beyond the call of duty, the Gold Star award is our little way of saying thank you.
Wow! I just read the newsletter; however, I still want to know if these gold stars give players any advantages (like prizes). Well, we'll just have to wait and see!
We are still working on the new spoiler system... To comply with the request.
(AKA.. make you think, but not too hard...)
And actually the last two Host Quests that yoyo has done with our new system has encouraged you all to try to quest first. Instead of saying, "Thanks yoyo for the answers/help!" you're saying, "Thanks Yoyo, but I was able to do it all on my own! :cgrin:" Again, that's the satisfaction of being able to do something on your own, complete the quest and have the satisfaction of earning that item as Yavn said.

omg! You know what we can do??
We can help EACH OTHER out! See? its like this:
I walk up to a micechatter:
Can you help me?
Micechatter: sure!
I can't find [ insert some lame place here ] can u help me?
Micechatter: I'd be glad to!
- takes me to place -
Thanks!
BOOM! Micechatter gets gold star!
Then..
I return the favor!
BOOM! I get gold star!
I was just reading Yavn's Newsletter on the VMK website, and this week he was talking about things he hates to see. One of these things was websites posting spoilers, like, er, us. I know that we always post the spoilers for every quest, and although we sometimes do it in spoiler text, and that we urge people to try the quest before reading the spoilers, I have to admit, that, I, um, read the first question, get stuck, and use the spoilers for the rest of the quest.. And I KNOW, that some of you guys do it to, plus the many guests that use mice for it's spoilers.
My Idea is this: We can give the answers for the really tough questions like: What was the licence plate number for the car that So and So drove away in? I mean who even knows that? However, on tasks like: Visit this room where the brave knight fought, but lost, (dungeon), we can just post hints.
So what do you guys think? Post spoilers or just hints?
Oh, and I was going to include a poll, but I have no idea how to do so..

I realize that this isn't going to change whether or not we post cheats or not, we probaly always will, but what do you guys think about this?
Wow! Nice triple thread post lol! And I guess that is a good idea, because it may also help with the problem. And if you seriously don't know where to go when it says "Let's go play Jungle Cruise", well, I don't know lol. I just know you shouldn't have to look at a spoiler for that.
I disagree. Spoil away. You can't guess which answers will be tough for which people. If people come on to this web-site, they're LOOKING for the answers...that's kind of the beauty of the internet.
The problem comes when people don't even try and there's no way to deal with that, right? It's either all or none in my opinion and you just have to put up with the people who don't play fair.
CHEATERS on the other hand (scripting tools and such) should be kicked out.
I hate it when there are ridiculous (see the last driving pin quest) point levels needed to finish quests. I'd do away with them completely.

Good point in the fact that they are LOOKING for them, and not knowing which ones may or may not be hard. But I believe the incredibly rediculous points needed for quests are neccesary. It not only means you play VMK more, whichi they want, it means that the reward is so good, it should ONLY be gotten by those good enough to get it. Which is why you must work at it. And also, welcome to Micechat, a friendly and fun unaffiliated Disney community!
