09/24/06 - No more Pirate Galleons?

It appears that the VMK mini-game which awards Pirate ships (galleons) in pieces has been taken off the VMK web-site. Attempts to access it from the URL were unsuccessful. Oh well. I liked the game. I wish they would have expanded it, actually.

FYI, the Pirate game through Kellogg's still seems to work as do the Pirates of the Caribbean web-site treasure hunt and the Narnia "game".

Another note...

I have NEVER seen the link for the Monsters, Inc. game. EVER. People point out other threads, but the link has either been deleted or is non-existent. If someone wants to post that here...some of us would be grateful...assuming it (the game) still works.

I'm talking the link to play the game, not to another thread or to hints or anything like that...click and play.

The Monster's Inc. game used to be accessed but vmk cancelled it. When it was not show on vmk you could still get to by an adisney address but now it leads to a disney theme parks page the pirates of the caribbean 2 website can still be accessed though

A good way to get credits is to SELL the items u get from the games, since they now have no trading value..
10 credits per Narnia item, and i think 5 per teleporter, so 10 per set..

That's kind of sad about the Monsters Doors, especially since you can't even trade them anymore either.

But think about it. If you can't get them anymore, maybe they will make them tradeable. I would recommend NOT selling them, just in case.

I think they are bringing those prizes back with the upcoming release of cards with the real pin boxes.

since i remembered about the doors, DONT sell them - but the narnia items - I still do bc the game is still available ( and i bookmarked it - haha )

I think he might be referring to something I saw on the Disney Online web-site site map...they're going to actually start some pin trading thing for real...not virtual.

They might be capitalizing on something little league baseball and ASA and USSSA girls softball teams have been doing for years...trading pins.

Whether or not they'll actually be based on or have anything to do with VMK's virtual pins...I have no idea.

Might check the web-site for more details or to correct my mis-guided info.

CORRECTION: They've been doing pin trading since 1999 apparently (from the web-site I mentioned earlier)...don't know about the cards that will be released with them, which is probably what you really were asking about anyway!

I'm holding on to my pink doors for now. The whole reason for making them non-tradeable was to discourage hackers. Now that the game is gone and can't be hacked anymore, they MAY become tradeable again.

And you can't play the kelloggs game anymore, the codes don't work because vmk doesn't work with kelloggs anymore, no longer sponcers of each other

I believe the previous post referred to my original one...the Pirate Galleons. As I mentioned well before that post, this thread can be closed, because they re-instated the pirate galleon game the next day or so after it started sending me to the Disney Destinations page. That was why I originally posted. Now I can play again.
