New Pokemon Game

Last week, I purchased the new Pokemon game, for Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance. My grandson is playing the blue version, and I am playing the red.

Now the thing is, I keep dying. I really don't like the game at all. It isn't as fun as all of the previous Pokemon Games that I played.

The basic premise of the game is that you have become a Pokemon, and now you are battling and rescuing other Pokemon. I don't like that I can't choose my moves.

My grandson, of course, is doing really well. I am doing terribly.

I think prehaps, I will just get out one of my old games and replay that instead.

Is anyone else playing, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red or Blue? I hope you are having better luck than I.

I suggest waiting for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, considering that it's actually part of the main series, with Mysterious Dungeon actually being the latest in a long running series in Japan, various versions of Mystery Dungeon having different themes and characters, such as Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon which was developed in conjuction with Squaresoft almost 10 years ago.
Diamond and Pearl just came out in Japan earlier in the week and sold 2.5 million copies in the first day alone. It's going to be huge...

Yes, I am looking forward to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. In the meantime, I have decided to give this Mystery Dungeon game one last try. I am presently playing as a Cubone. Can you imagine a Cubone named Barbaraann?

Once you've played Red and Blue there's no reason to play anny of the other versions. The formula hasn't changed in about 7 years...

Same formula + slightly new elements = :sleep:

Two new types does nothing but add to the rock, paper, scissors game style.

Double battles is just common sense. That's been done since Street Fighter.

I am doing better on the Mystery DUngeon Pokemon game. I started over with Squirtle and my partner is Pikachu. I finally made it past the Gengar part. I will play this game until the new Pokemon Diamond and Pearl games come out. They are the true "new" versions of the series of games that I really like. Really curious to see what all the new Pokemon will be.

You can look on Wikipedia's Diamond and Pearl articles and the Pokemon lists there. This time around, some of the Pokemon include lions, skunks, beavers, rabbits, hot air balloons, dinosaurs, penguins, fire monkeys, and a whole lot more.

I'd actualy say once you've played Gold and SIlver really

red and blue were great but Gold and Silver were fun as sequals for both expanding the world adding new features and allowing you to revisit the old locations which was pretty nifty

Ruby and Sappire were more of a step back there were new features like the whole pokemon contest things with appealing to the audience and feeding pokeblocks and weird crud for what was essentualy a second gym type system meaning you had to beat the old gym system the appeal contest system and then the final challenge was the battle tower in order to truly beat the game (well that and the usual pokedex) you know you've done everything once you've got a room filled with fans at the fanclub

I'd probably leave the series behind myself at this point because it's true they dn't change much it's just more and more refined editions of the same basic game it's more balanced and lasts longer but it's also too much of the same

I'm only buying into Diamond and Pearl because my g/f still likes the games and the online aspect should help me come closer to defeating her this time (I've been defeated in every edition of the game I've owned with the exception of Red and Blue were I had a better team then what any of my family members or girlfriend could manage)

I am struggling through the Dungeon game, but I am really looking forward to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.

I continue to play, because I like all the new Pokemon that they come out with. I also enjoy it, when they have new regions to explore. It is also fun to see the new attacks, and the new evolutions.

Finished Mystery Dungeon a while ago. If you've been dying, there is an alternative to where you give someone a code at the time of death, and the person will come and rescue you. Since this is NOT wifi, I use this feature alot in blue. However, I will be unable to help since I accidently started over :P
