A number of players seem to be having a difficult time earning credits because they either aren't very good at the mini-games or their computers are too slow to run them. There's still a way to earn some decent credits, but I warn you in advance, it is boring and tedious. But if you stick to it, it'll bring in some credit flow and allow you to at least pick up a few new things that come out every week.
1. Visit the NPC's. There's 8 NPC's that each give you 20 credits. That's 160 credits a day there. And if you're in a time zone that allows, you'll be able to visit them twice a day, as you can get credits from them every 12 hours. So if you go visit them in the opening at 7 a.m., you can visit them again at 7 p.m. that night. And that would give you 320 credits a day from NPCs alone. NPCs: Esmeralda (Emporium), Yeti (Matterhorn), Dragon (Dungeon), Ned (Ned's Shop), Blackheart (Pirate Treehouse), Phineas (Stretching Room), Ezra (Ballroom), and Gus (Attic).
2. Mix and Play Music in the Music Lobby. You can Mix and Play your music and earn credits every half hour or so. You get 25 credits each time you save a mix. And 25 credits each time you play a mix. So that's 50 credits every half hour or so. Sometimes you can even play a mix and get credits every 15 minutes. My favorite thing to do is when I'm just moving between rooms, I'll drop by the music lobby real quick and pick up a fast 25 credits by playing my "credit" mix. You get credits no matter how long or short your song is. So many players have what's called a "credit" mix. It's basically a 1 note song.
3. Jungle Cruise. Many players either don't get the Jungle Cruise game, don't like it, or are too slow to play it. But no matter what score you get, you earn 20 credits just for trying. On an average machine, it takes about 3 minutes to load the game, get in the boat, crash the boat, and get off the boat. So in 20 minutes time, you can earn 120 credits just by crashing on the dock. The fastest way to crash is to back up all the way to the left side of the screen as you continually slam yourself into the walls. Speed up to the right side of the screen and crash as you do so (this helps deplete more of your gas). Back up and repeat until your gas is all out. Boring and tedious. But it gets the credits eventually.
4. Diving/Driving. So you spend most of your time hanging out with your friends because your computer is too slow to play games. Or you would rather spend your time chatting it up than topping the score of the player next to you. Well, why not earn some credits while hanging out and chatting with your friends? Now, hopefully you have the diving and/or car magic pins. If not...well, skip this one. Every shell you pick up in the Grotto or Graveyard and every trophy in the three autopia tracks gives you 1 credit. Not much, I'm sure you're thinking. But sit there collecting those for about an hour with some friends just talking away and you'll be surprised and what you end up with. Remember, every credit counts.
5. Yeti Vision. If you play level three, you get 200 credits and a cart which you can sell for 50 credits. Play four games and you've got 1000 credits right there. Boring...yeah. But you get as much as if you lost in fireworks with 240,000+ points. Play level two and you get the room which sells for 100 credits. The benefit of this game, is you can do it when VMK is closed. ^_^ (I think you have to wait about 10 minutes between each game, however.)
6. Playing other external VMK games. The external VMK games give you prizes of some sort and can be played while VMK is closed. Most of these prizes sell for about 5 credits. But if you have enough of them, they eventually add up. And if you're one of those players who can't play mini-games, every credit counts.
7. Playing Player/Host Games/Quests. Some quests are fairly easy and some games are pretty simple. Always avoid the ones that require you to pay to play. There are a lot that don't. Play all the games you seem like you can win in. It doesn't matter what prize they are giving (okay, well it sort of matters...make sure it is an item that can be sold). If you get a prize you want, then that's great. You keep it. If you get a prize you don't care for, SELL IT. Basically free credits right there. Doesn't matter if it's 5 or 20. At least you pick up another few credits.
I'm sure there are some other ways that have slipped my mind at the moment. If I come up with more, I'll add on to this. I know many of these techniques are boring and tedious, but when you need credits and can't play those mini-games...you really don't have much choice. So try and find ways to make it fun and interesting. Have your friends join you. Something...anything. Having fun is always the most important thing.
