Won $500?!

Me and my friend Ashley were playing around on the radio, we were trying to find a good station. There was a really stupid song on so we listened to it to make fun of it...when it was over, the guy said the 22nd caller would get 500 bucks. My friend Ashley took out her cell and I am like "are you crazy?!" but you know what? SHE WON! She actually won $500! I am happy for her, of course. But I can't help feeling...oh what's that word? O_o

Anyways, are these things real?! They have her phone number and address. Nothing more. They didn't give us much info. I am sort of hoping it's fake..but $500 is alot of money in a teens point of view. @[email protected]

Just thought I get this off my chest and ask if anyone has won any radio related things. =)

I haven't won anything, but, I'm not kidding, if my mom calls in, she will win no matter what lol. It's sort of unfair, but I'm not kidding, she ALWAYS wins. Unfortunately she doens't call in often unless it is a good prize

Sure they are for real. I rememeber back in 6th grade like me and firends would talk on the phone all day. I don't know why it was so great but we would listen to this one station and always call in and talk to the DJs and stuff- they got to know us lol. Anyways one time I won tickets to some concert I didn't like- my sister did though and my now brother and law already had tickets to it- gave them to them. It is for real though as long as it was a legit station.

Usually you have to be over 18 to accept the prize . So probably need a parent or something. And did they tell her info about it. Because if it was for real then they should have asked for her number and name stuff like that then they call you back telling you when to pick it up usually.

Usually you have to be over 18 to accept the prize . So probably need a parent or something. And did they tell her info about it. Because if it was for real then they should have asked for her number and name stuff like that then they call you back telling you when to pic kit up usually.

That's the part that ticked me, they didn't ask for anything like that.

That's why I was wondering if the whole affair is a joke or real. O_o

I personally don't know what station it was. We just heard a stupid song playing and listened to it. We were looking for Panic! of course. Than when it was over this dude said welcome back or whatever, it's time for our blah blah contest...22nd caller will get 500 dollars cash prize and they said the number, before I knew it, my friend was calling. I got freaked when she won, I thought it was IMPOSSIBLE to win.

Well she doesn't have to share, she called, she won and she gave her information. I am still kinda freaked that she gave info to a perfectly good stranger who may or may not give her money. And again, sorry for double post.

The whole sharing thing is wrong. I suggest you don't "ask" her to share it with you. That is really rude, if I won money and my friend asked for some I would not be friends with them anymore unless I knew they were kidding around. It's her money. Krazymagic if you won 500 dollars would you like to only have 250 from sharing with a friend? 500 cut in half goes down low. This contest was most likely to be real, like Barfownz said. They would get in big trouble if it was a lie/scam. Congrats to your friend and I hope she has fun spending it!

i won tickets to panic at the disco but they wouldnt give them to me cuz i wasnt 18. So i asked if i could get my parents/brother but they wouldnt let me.

You know the internet can be a safe place every NOW and then. Man i hate people who freak out about personal info on the internet. Heck if somone asked me right now i would give them my cell phone number, address, birthday, social security number blah blah blah. (unless i didnt wanna talk to them. then no cell phone for them)

Exactly my point. If she wants to share, that's her choice but I doubt id accept. And she is not the kind of person to brag to her friends. We were talking it over today and I told her about the 18 year old thing and she is probably gonna have her dad get them for her.
