Stitch set question?

Do you have to stay at The Grand Californian or disneyland hotel to get a stitch set? or do you HAVE TO book it through the travel company?

You have to book it through the Disney Travel company and you have to stay at either a Disney Hotel or Good Neighbor Hotel (which are listed when you book the trip through DT).

Ahm, because i'm going to stay at The Grand Californian. but not book it through the travel company.

Couldnt i ask for them at the hotel?

I tried that the first time I stayed there this summer and the people at the hotel didn't even know what stitch cards were. The cards are kept and distributed by the travel center, which is between the theaters and the Disneyland Hotel. But if you show up and tell them you didn't know you had to book with the travel company, they'll tell you to use Disney Travel next time, but they won't give you cards.

I dont think so, I have asked the people from vmk central how exactly the whole stitch deal works, and they said that you HAVE to book it through the travel company (meaning at disney.com where it says "Plan your disney dream vacation) then you have to go to vmk central and show them you planned it through there and they will give you the cards.

I also know this because my friend works at DLR and he has friends in vmk central

If you know someone who work there, that might help, but they probably don't have the ability to just give you a set without stealing it.

And yes, it's kind of by the monorail. It's across the way, you go around the theatre to the right, past the bookstore(?) and to those little holes in the wall between the back of DD and the DLH.

I've been through the process. The people at VMK central all claim that they do not even have the cards, and I've seen the drawer. I think they are telling the truth.

When you book the trip, about two weeks or so before you arrive, you get your travel package in the mail. It has your reservation info, your free lanyard certificates, your early admission to Toontoon coupon and that sort of stuff, and it has a little blue folder with the three Stitch cards in it. You only go to the travel center if you didn't get your cards, like if you booked at the last minute.

There was a rumor once that you could go to the travel center and they would give you one set for each registered guest in your party, but when I tried that, they insisted that this was not the policy and I got sent back out empty handed. (Well, I did still have the original set)
