I experienced something that quite baffles me. As you know, when playing Capture, whomever has their flag the closest to their base will win. You also will get more points if you actually return the flag to your base instead of just killing off the other team.
So... it was down to two of us. I had the flag on my ship and was very close to my base. My opponent had my flag on his boat but was still near my base. He was also down to a rowboat. Of course, I could just ram him and end the game. But, since he had so far to go and I was nearly home, I wanted to get to my base and collect more points. I sailed away from him. He followed. No matter what I did to avoid him, he sailed into my path obviously wanting me to destroy him.
Why? Just to deny me more points? He'd already lost the game. Why would he begrudge me my max points?
Weird.
Also, I'm sure we've all seen the opponents we've just beaten type things like, "Cheater" etc. I was very flattered and complimented today when one of my opponents (after my team had won the game and I had sunk most of the enemy myself) type, "TCTC, I hat the hello out of you!"
