  • Help.. (fonts question)

When I go to dafonts.com to download a font,I search for a font I want, press the download button on the side,it asks me to either open with " CompressedFolder( default) or save to disk.I press open with and then ok and since I have firefox, then downloads box comes up,then I clean up all downloads, and a window pops up with the font I just downloaded,I click extract all files then Extractoin Wizard comes up.I finish extracting and a new window pops up with the font, unzipped. After that I have no clue as to what to do...I've tried some things but I can never find the font in my paint program.

        Re: Help..

Ok, if you have Windows XP here is what you do.

Go to your START button, then CONTROL PANEL. Once you open the CONTROL PANEL make sure it is in CLASSIC VIEW (the default is usually CATEGORY VIEW). You can switch to CLASSIC VIEW by clicking on it, this option should be on the top left hand on the blue side bar (it is circled in red in the image below).

Once you are in CLASSIC VIEW there should be a folder named FONTS. Open the FONTS folder, and just drag and drop (or cut and paste) the font you unzipped into this folder. Once that is done you should now have the font you just "installed" in your drop down list in paint.

Let me know if this works out for you, and I hope this helps.

Then you go to the "Windows" folder, click on the "Fonts" folder, and click "Install New Font". Make sure you saved the font somewhere in the C drive, and then go to where you saved it and install.
