WOW. That's a lot of titles. Too bad most of them don't interest me in the slightest. Seriously, as much as I love Disney, their videogames freakin' suck.

Several developers also blamed Nintendo for their hesitancy, claiming that the company puts third-party developers at a disadvantage while ensuring the success of first-party titles. It remains to be seen if any of this Wii fear is justifiable, although a lack of third-party confidence is never a good sign for a console manufacturer.

Nintendo's response? "Just keep making those minigames!", while Mario sips a martini with flakes of platinum floating in it, at the beach, using $100 bills to light his cigars.

HAHA..Not counting the excellent "Kingdom Hearts" series, the only Disney themed games I enjoyed playing were the old NES Disney Afternoon games (Ducktales,Chip and Dale:Rescue Rangers,Darkwing Duck) and the Super NES Mickey Mouse games.

The Duck Tales games on the NES... oh the memories! I replayed them recently, and they were really difficult!!!! I stopped playing Kingdom Hearts due to the extreme frustration with the controls, camera and UI (but that's a topic I had in another thread).

As far as 3rd party titles for the Wii, I honestly can't think of one down the pipeline that I want. I'm quite annoyed that not one rpg has come out for the Wii.

Well it had a few rpg elements to it, but that game was a puzzle/platformer game to me. I enjoyed SPM immensely.... but I'm talking games more of the Final Fantasy variety.

I wish they'd make some "Banjo Kazooie" type games for the Wii also.... I guess Super Mario Galaxy will be a good start :P

Funny.. I hear that more about people's PS3s then their Wiis. I don't know of anyone around me that has a wii and doesn't play it because they got bored with it. In fact its quite the contrary.. more and more people I know are getting them (just 3 people I know last week got one)

That's a platformer - not a RPG. Just because it has puzzle elements - its by no means a RPG.

The downside to having the highest hardware sales is that you get a flood of junk games. The Wii is going to see the same kind of madness that the DS and GBA have seen, lousy games coming from everywhere.

All three of my systems are mostly gathering dust, though my 360 has seen a bit of use from the last month thanks to a friend getting one as well. Otherwise, the only one I was using regularly before that was DS. PS3 got a fair amount of use with PS2 games or media, but PS3 native games seem to be non-existent or better on 360.

                  Guitar Hero III
                  Manhunt 2
                  Resident Evil:Umbrella Chronicles
Ghost Squad (Just because I loved playing this game at Dave and Busters)

As long as these arent crappy PS2 ports I'll be happy.

well back in those days Capcom made the Disney games

Capcom is a solid third party as is SquareEnix (teh makers of Kingdom Hearts)

when it comes to licensed games you want to check the third party and studio more then the franchise consistency because the makers can change and if a reputable studio picks it up then you're usually going to get a better game

Third party's just don't seem to want to try with Nintendo most of the time it seems like, there are a few games but it's been a slow turnaround, hopefully next year will be a bit stronger third party wise

                      cool list here's mine:

Zack and Wiki (it's got such positive word of mouth going about the reviewers)

No More Heros (gameplay looks fun got a good impressions from Kotaku)

Naruto Revolution (the other games got great ratings and it's supposed to be surprisingly deep and a four player mode, also Naruto is a good anime up until the Sasuke retrieval arc but America has only just reached that so that's when this game is set)

Resident Evil:Umbrella Chronicles (impressions improving for this game sounds fun and interactive)

I'm also interested in both Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles games but they both seem to be a way's off as far as releases go, probably get the full Wii game next Christmas and I'm not sure if the Wiiware game will launch with the download service

i hope RE:Umbrella Chronicles has the same scheme as RE4 on the Wii, cuz that game is AMAZING (my only complaint is the not being able to run while shooting, a la Metroid 3)

sadly Umbrella Chronicles is an on rails game so you really won't be walking around and exploring like RE4 :\

my interest in it has mostly come from the fact that I'm hearing that it's becoming more exciting and fast paced for an on rails shooter

supposedly Capcom may eventually utilize the RE4 engine again, Keiji Inafune (creator of Megaman, Lost Planet and Dead Rising) stated in an interview that he believes the RE4 engine to be the best choice for developing games on teh Wii (for Capcom anyways)

rumors are for an origional game of some sort or perhaps a Rii make of RE2 but nobody knows yet

I agree RE4 was a great game on the Wii though

I think it's also worth noting that the design choice for not being able to run and aim has more to do with the genre then any limitations of the system, Capcom wanted the player to stand still to aim to increase the tension you feel when the enemies start to rush you while your lining up your shots (a bit harder to do on the cube actually, Wii makes it less scary and more fun in my book)

                            It's a platformer/RPG/puzzler game.

not a straight one like FF that Chernabog mentioned, but it's still got those RPGish elements.

Re: The Wii and 3rd Parties: The Good and the Bad

interesting bit of news has come out recently, Capcom is porting Okami to the Wii

for those that don't know Okami was a PS2 game from 2006 that was voted by many sites to be game of the year

due to it's use of the celestial paintbrush there was quite a crowd that thought it would be better realized on the Wii

anywho despite the critical praise the game got fairly mediocre sales and I guess Capcom's giving it a second time around with all the pressure from gamers and the fact that a port probably won't cost them much

Normally I'm not interested in ports but seeing how well RE4 was put together along with the chance that Capcom might release it at $30 just like they did the Wii edition of RE4 and I'm starting to feel I might finally get this game (the praise has always interested me but my cousin moved away and I don't have my own PS2)
