Did anyone catch the live episode tonight? I live like 15-20 minutes from where it took place. I've walked by the hotel several times. Crazy. There were 15,000 people across the street on the beach watching.

^I passed for the very same reason you listed, 15,000 people. Insane!

I didn't watch though, I forgot about it by the time I got home. What time did they explode it?

I've always found this guy kinda obnoxious, so I had zero interest. It was hard to avoid though with all the local media attention. In the end, it went down exactly as I had expected, a "surprise" that was supposedly unplanned. Yeah right.

I don't understand what the appeal would have been for people to be there live. They kept the crowd 500 feet away where they couldn't possibly have seen anything. So unless you're a fan just hoping to shake the guy's hand or something what would be the point?

Oh I totally called it on the building going down before he could get out and he suddenly appears.

David Copperfield did a similar stunt around 20 years ago. They shackled and locked him in a safe in a building they were going to implode and he had to get out in a certain amount of time. Similar result too. I have most of his specials from the 80's & 90's on video. Even saw him live a couple times and got to help him with a trick the first time I saw him.

He would only be busted if we believed in him in the first place.

That stunt was a joke. He is a joke. I can't stand him. I was listening to the radio while driving to work and they were making fun of him. It was so funny.

His street magic is pretty good, but he tries to be too "rock star" for being a magician.

But there's something about guys in eyeliner that do me in every time. Ugh.

Well he was in a band before he did Mindfreak.

What I don't like about him (or other magicians for that matter) is his massive fan following. They actually seem to believe that he has magical powers. I appreciate magic for how it's done or the illusion. Though some people seem to believe he's the second coming of Christ.

Ok the band thing makes sense now. I though I read his bio once and it mentioned he played drums or something.

But yeah this guy's fan following is mind blowing. I don't remember David Copperfield or Doug Henning or Lance Burton or even Sigfried & Roy to have a freaky fan following like that. I like magic/illusions, but really.

i always wondered if i was the only one who liked the street magic/spontaneous tricks more than the finale of every episode.
me and my sister watch practically every episode together but she's 11 and i guess magic is a big thing at that age; she's always trying to do tricks around the house but none of them are anything epic lol
we know it's just an illusion and we think that he's kinda creepy but it's entertaining and good "family time". haha
