So, the new dancers for this season are being announced tonight during ABC's Sunday night line-up. So far, they are:

-Steve-O
-News Anchor Nancy O'Dell
-Rapper Lil Kim
-Football player Lawrence Taylor
-Olympic Gymnast Shawn Johnson (The youngest ever competitor on Dancing with the Stars)
-Denise Richards (what the ?????) dancing with Maksim Chmerkovskiy
-Country Singer Chuck Wicks dancing with Julianne Hough
-Actor Gilles Marini
-Steve Wozniak (Apple co-founder, philanthropist)
-Singer Belinda Carlisle
-Actor David Alan Greir
-Rodeo athlete TY Murray
-Singer Jewel


The new season starts March 9th at 8pm!!!
Season eight schedule for “Dancing with the Stars” is: performance show is on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, March 9 through May 18; the results show is on Tuesdays, at 9 p.m., ET, March 17 through May 12; and the season finale is Tuesday, May 19, at 9 p.m.

That's great news. Funny, I only know Lil Kim from that list there. I don't know the others or maybe I just don't know there name enough.

Look forward to a new season, though. Thanks for the information, Audrey. Such a change too. They normally like to wait to tell them on Good Morning America.

I'm happy, my favorite Gymnast is on there!!!!!!! But that also means she won't be competing at the American Cup or Nationals this year

In another first, two-time Dancing champ-turned-country-singer Julianne Hough will compete with her boyfriend, country singer Chuck Wicks.

An ABC spokesperson says the remaining professional dancer/celebrity pairings will be announced on Thursday, February 12.

With Steve-O and Lil Kim, I think the sensors will have a field day! But I think Shawn's gymnastics and (somewhat) dance background will help with her balance and her poise. Just watch her floor and beam routines, she won a gold on beam and silver on floor in Beijing and is reigning world champion on floor and beam as well. Right now, with just looking at the cast list, I think she has a good chance.
My guess is Shawn will be paired with Derek or Mark.

Dancing with the Stars returns with new surprises and all the elements viewers have come to know and love including the Kids Ballroom competition. Macy's Stars of Dance, which features some of the most renowned dancers and choreographers of our time will also be back on Dancing with the Stars the Results Show along with its hugely popular Design a Dance competition. Design a Dance is sponsored by Macy's and made its debut last season. In addition, couples will once again take part in a team dance, group dance and face off as well as perform the Argentine Tango and East Coast Swing; a first in the series. And in an exciting new twist, the bottom two couples facing elimination will Dance Off to determine who is dismissed in the first weeks of competition.

Considering I haven't watched this show since Jane Seymour was on it, I have no idea what half of this stuff is.

I'm surprised no one has posted yet about the cast changes to the show.
Nancy O'Dell and Jewel are both out due to injury. Jewel apparently fractured her fibia and Nancy has a knee injury. Reportedly they are being replaced by reality "stars" Holly Madison from "The Girls Next Door" and Melissa who was just dumped on "The Bachelor."
