I have to admit I used to make fun of it to my girlfriend because I thought she only watched it because she thought that dean was cute, But after watching it a few times I must say that its not that bad of a show, I kinda like that the seals are almost broken. And how dean came back from hell, and shoot I like the fact that sammys a demon killing demons. The girls are all smoking on that show too

I haven't watched the show since Season 1 (stupid WB changing the night) but I remember plot lines about "angels vs demons and various biblical references".

Wasn't the whole back-story about how the Mom got killed by a demon and the dad was going after it?

The initial backstory was a demon thing killed Mom but you rarely saw demons. The majority of the focus was on the brothers and their ability to hunt weird supernatural things. The basic premise was find it, find out what it is, find out how to kill it, go back and find it so you can kill it. All in all a good formula considering they hunted everything from ghosts to vampires to windigos... from a curse to a hanged man's hand... they had a bit of every occult in it (rabbit foot episode was BEAUTIFUL). Then towards the end of one season they focused more and more on ghosts, eventually morphing the focus almost solely into demons (at one point Dean going to Hell). Dean somehow ends up topside and now you get Angels vs Demons and that is pretty much it. No more unique episodes of hunting weird unknown things... the last weird thing were ghouls and to some extent it rocked.

I still think my favorite was going into a haunted insane asylum... talk about disturbed spirits...

I actually loved how the show changed. I've been following the show since the beginning and have been so excited for this season and love it so far!!!!

Well when a show is lacking ratings writers tend to change the format. I really believe that the show is getting better every season.

I'm not sure how many people actually watch this show anymore... but I'd venture to say it has lost its way. Somehow it has gone from a show about 2 brothers hunting the occult... to angels vs demons and various biblical references...

In the past they went everywhere, hunting just about anything (ghosts mainly but also other oddities)... now the sole focus appears to be either angels, or demons... On the bright side it makes it that much easier to flip the channel and turn on Fringe or CSI when it comes back. I just really miss the old Supernatural. The show that showed you brotherly love, brought back memories, and reminded people why movies like ghostbusters was so fun to watch!
