"Sunday Morning" on CBS may still be one of the best "hidden gems" for a lot of people during the TV week.
For many years I have loved the way that this show handles a balance of serious and light topics, everyday things that are important, long conversations with pop culture icons...and yes, still time for pictures of animals running down a hillside, a running brook or a New England snowfall (sadly, they do seem to have cut back on the time for that).
I go back to the days when the late Charles Kuralt hosted. But Charles Osgood has carried on the tradition in fine form.
In L-A, anyway, it comes on at 7AM Sunday morning. So I DVR it and watch later. The "news" is just a small part of the show...most of the segments are not particularly time-sensitive.
I suggest that others might give it a try, if they haven't already!
