This is kind of sad. But worth watching.

The clip is a preview of David Tennant's video diary that he did during the filming of the last 4 episodes.

Re: Doctor Who - The End of Time

Just a heads up for those of you who haven't seen The Waters of Mars in the U.S., it will air on BBC America Saturday December 19th at 9/8c.

Something else I noticed about the BBC America airings is that the episodes are edited. I was watching Planet of the Dead and noticed that the "He will knock four times" is missing from the BBC America version. I'm curious if they will edit out the same comments made in Waters of Mars. Because the Doctor does mention it in Waters.

Oh well, If you can watch the unedited version on youtube by all means do so.

        Just a heads up.

And just for fun I've added some Christmas hellos from the Doctor.

You know, I'm actually a little sad that we all know/knew that David is leaving his role as the Doctor. If that information had been kept secret, then everything that happened in Waters of Mars would have been so much more effective and tense, rather than "ooh, OK so this is how he's going to go."

I hope they give him a good and solid send off, and that the new Doctor is as enjoyable as David has been.

I'll give Matt a try, but David's charm is what sucked me into the show (after seeing him on Graham Norton). But we'll see.

Re: Doctor Who - The End of Time

It's always a bitter sweet moment when a new actor takes over the role of the Doctor. I wasn't sure of David Tennant when he took over the role from Christopher Eccleston, but it all turned out fine.

The regeneration that is about to take place is slightly different than the last one. Mainly due to Steven Moffat taking over for Russel T. Davies as the Executive Producer. Which usually means a change in style and focus of story arcs.

                It's almost Christmas!!!

Re: Doctor Who - The End of Time

Greetings all, hope you caught it on BBC America. Part one has aired and the conclusion is coming after New Years.

I would say my favorite moments from this episode are with Wilf and the Doctor. The Master is really crazy this time out. Although I wasn't expecting the "Master race" at the end.

Good set up for what ever is going to happen on the Jan 2nd.

Plus the return of the Timelords and Timothy Dalton.

Let's hear what you think about the episode.

Here's a teaser for the next episode.

Timothy Dalton really threw me. And I'm curious what's going to happen to Donna because all of a sudden she started remembering and then... no idea if her mind went kaplooey or what.

FYI, BBC America is doing a mega Doctor Who marathon starting Friday (New Year's Day) and continuing through Saturday, leading up to End of Time Part 2. From the looks of it, they'll be showing Series 2-4 in order! I can't wait to get caught up on everything! :yea:

Oh and they're also airing a special that's a salute to David Tennant's tenure as the Tenth Doctor.

watching that video diary clip thats posted way above made me sad =C I'm going to try and give the new Doctor a shot, but David Tennant did such an amazing job (I'm going to miss his charisma and his charm for the role).

What has really kept me watching is strong writing that has seemed to get even stronger...if that level of consistency is maintained with Mr. Smith, well, I'll keep watching.

David Tennant was the most popular Doctor because he's the same age as a lot of people currently watching the show. Matt Smith will be the youngest Doctor yet. Us Gen Xers just got out-aged.

I will miss David Tennant. I thought that he was a great Doctor. He did have some great scripts to work with.

The final two part show I only thought they were OK. I thought that it could be stronger.

                                  Agreed.
I always had problems with Russel T Davies series finales. He has a great way of building up the tension in the first few episodes then the pay off is not so great.

I liked the Master finally doing the right thing and taking out the Timelords.
But I wonder if that was the end for the Master? Finally wrapping up his chracter.

The whole saying goodbye to everyone before dying bit was self indulgent on Russel T.'s part but hey, it's all the characters that he created over the past 5 seasons. He's entitled to play with his toys one last time.
But I just didn't buy Mickey and Martha married. That was a bit left field. It probably had something to do with Torchwood.
Although the scene with Rose was just great but heartbreaking.

Overall, not bad. Not the best but not bad.

                                  Now bring on the Moff!!!

I made myself feel better by thinking "She'll be OK, she has her very own Dr. Who 10 on some deranged alternate universe." Which could always leave themselves open for an "Oops! We opened that portal and here's a Guest Appearance by David Tennant!"

                                    ...Probably won't happen, but i can dream, can't I?

I'm still sad about David Tennant leaving the role...he was my Doctor. It was because of him I really got drawn into the show, its such a shame to see him go

That said...The trailer for next season was pretty awesome. I think Matt Smith has the right look and feel of the Doctor, so I'm quite excited to see what he brings to the role. I just hope his portrayal of the Doctor is far different then David Tennant's so we get less (inevitable) comparisons between them.

When David Tennant took over for Christopher Eccleston I wasn't to sure how David would do. I quite liked Ecclestons version of the Doctor. But he went on to do a great job.

I'm more than curious to see what the new writing team is going to bring to the table. With the new team being lead by Stephan Moffat who wrote some of the most memorable, and scary episodes during the last 5 years of the new Who series.

For those of you not familiar with the episodes he's written for Doctor Who, here is a list.

                                        "The Empty Child"/"The Doctor Dances"
                                        ("Are you my mummy?")
                                        "The Girl In The Fireplace"
"Blink" This episode is probably my all time favorite New Who episode.
"Time Crash" The Children in Need special that briefly brought Doctor No. 5 and Doctor No. 10 together.
"Silence In The Library"/"Forest Of The Dead" The whole "ghosting" concept is just creepy. With Miss Evangelista repeating Ice Cream as her consciousness fades out.

He also helped write the first script for the first TinTin movie that Steven Spielberg is directing and co-producing with Peter Jackson.
Stephen Moffat was suppose to write all three films but chose to be the Executive Producer for Doctor Who instead.

May the Moff bring good things.
