  • Phyllis Diller Died Tody At 95

I'll always remeber laughing my hed off at her skits and standoup comedy. In fact, she was the bery firt female stand-up comedian, who was so modest that she made light of her plastic surger. The plastic surgeons associations appreciate the posotive "face lift" that she gave their industry so much that they gave her an award. All this, and she was an accomplished pianist, that played concerts on a regular basis. What a onderful lady. We loveyou Phylis. God broke the mode when he made you, and you are definite proof that god has a sense of humor. That's why he made us. I'm laughing and crying at the same time., my fair...downright beautiful lady.

I've been a fan of hers for years. Not many people realize how much she really contributed. She didn't even begin her comedy career until she had 5 children already. She was essentially the first successful female comedian, and all female comedians of today owe her a nod.
Does anyone even bother with signatures anymore?

Right on! She also began her career in her late 30's on a Groucho Marx game show. She said the magic words, and he paid her a high compliment in telling herthat she i funny. this gave her the confidence to pursue her own career without knowing anyone in the entertainment industry, and having little money. She obviously got some ard earned breaks as she moved up...and "moved" everybody else up along with her...a true cultural hero.
