Doctor Who Series 7!! Beware ... "SPOILERS"

Less than a week until Doctor Who Series 7 has it's premiere.

This is a pretty recent show for me, in fact it's a show I've been wanting to watch for years but just got around to it about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I'm already on Series 5 and hoping to catch up before next weekend. Don't think it's going to happen due to the DL 1/2 Marathon but I will for sure be caught up prior to episode 2.

Obviously I don't know what happened in Series 6 or what/if there were any cliffhangers. Doesn't mean I'm not anticipating finally being able to watch with the rest of you!!!

I finally caught up and watched the season premiere. I thought it was very good.


SPOILERS:
Not sure I liked that Rory/Amy's marriage was on the rocks. The great thing about their relationship was that no matter how many times you may have thought the Doctor was getting in the way, Amy always was able to prove her love to Rory. I thought the "I was giving you up so you could have kids" was kind of a cop-out.

Other than that, a great episode. Will be interesting to see how they work in the new Companion seeing as she's kind of a dead Dalek now.

I'm a new Whoovian too! Daughter got me hooked on it this summer. After she came to visit she left her Wii for me so I could watch it on Netflix and catch up.

And she doesn't get BBCAmerica so I got to see season 7 before she did.... :evil:

Oh yeah.... and the whole River Song thing makes my brain hurt trying to keep up with that...

And yes... I cried when David Tennent "died" as the doctor.... wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Matt Smith, and still like David better, but Matts doing a good job.

^ I agree, I still like Tennant better. I still wish we'd have had a bit longer with Eccleston though.

It took me a few episodes to like Tennant, it took me more than a season until I was comfortable with Matt Smith.

I think watching them all in the span of 3-4 weeks probably had something to do with it though.

I agree. I started watching the end of May and finished up a couple of weeks before season 7 started. After being able to watch several shows a day its going to be hard now to wait a week before episodes! :lol:

Just saw #2 of the new season - "Dinosaurs on a space ship". It was a great fun stand alone story. It reminded me of some of the older Dr. Who that first made me want to watch the series.

I'm really liking this season so far. I'm glad they went back to stand alone stroy arc episodes. I didn't really care for the whole season arc that they had for season 6.

But I'm very interested in seeing where they take this season story wise.

I like the single-episode stories, too. I don't have the attention span to remember things from one episode to the next a lot of the time. Plus, it makes syndication easier if each episode can stand alone.

Episode 3: A town called mercy.

This episode was alright, not as strong as last week. I found it very predictable. The best parts were the scenes between the Doctor and Jex talking about what is right vs. what is right during a war.

I'd give it a 2 out of 5 stars.

I liked it. The best part was the Horse called Susan!!!

The next two episodes should be interesting as they are the last two with Amy and Rory.

Episode 3: The Power of Three

I liked this one a lot more than last week's western. It was very creepy not knowing what the cubes did and how long they were just sitting around. Personally I would have gotten them out of my house and away from me as soon as they showed up.

It also looks like we have a new villain race to deal with.

I'd give this one a 4 out of 5

I liked Rory and Amy as companions, but I felt it was time for them to move on and for a new companion to come in. But still not sure how I feel about the way they left... it was very dramatic but... so... final. It will be interesting to see how they bring in the next companion. But darn it... we have to wait until CHRISTMAS!!!!????? :lol:

I'm still not sure how I feel about this past episode. I think that I will have to watch it another time off the DVR.

Just like the doctors all companions story lines come to an end. As much as I liked Rory and Amy I'm not sure how much more they could have done with them without going over the same old grown.

I think it "had" to be final. The only one that wasn't so final was Martha and they kind of dragged that on a bit.

I still think I was more sad when Rose left the first time and I think Donna's was much more harsh. At least Rory/Amy had each other and had the memory of their time with the Doctor. Rose and Donna didn't get that.

Still a great episode. The Angels are quickly becoming one of the more awesome villains in the Doctor Who universe (IMO).
