Did anybody else see the premiere on BBC America last night of this new spinnoff from Dr. Who? I thought it was pretty good. I will keep watching to see if maintains a good quality.

Re: Torchwood
Yes! My friend told me to watch it and it looks great. And not shy about boy-on-boy snogging. I'm told there's also girl-on-girl and girl-on-boy snogging, too. Something for everybody!
I liked the invisible lift and his explanation to the girl. I'm glad I got in on the first episode.I pledge allegiance to the Earth, one planet, many gods, and to the universe in which she spins.

Re: Torchwood
I watched two episodes of it Saturday. Very interesting. I think that now that I have the basic background story, it should be interesting to see how the characters develop. I mean theres that whole underlying sexual tension between Jack and Gwen.... I don't think they would ever go anywhere with it...because keeping them on the fringes with each other is so much more interesting.

Re: Torchwood
I totally agree. X-Files had the sexual tension thing going, but then they had to ruin it. And things got boring.
I have high hopes for Torchwood. Second and third episodes either recorded or set to record.I pledge allegiance to the Earth, one planet, many gods, and to the universe in which she spins.

Re: Torchwood
I watched all of torchwood at the start of the year when it was on you-tube. There are a handful of so-so episodes, but there are also some really outstanding ones also.
The neat thing about torchwood is that it is much more adult than Dr. Who and the characters don't always know or understand what is going on. On some episodes they lose/fail, which again never happens on Dr. Who. (He always wins).
I really enjoy the show and strongly suggest you all hang in there and see all of them. It might not be perfect, but it is so much better than 99% of the other shows on the air.

Interesting how the Lift is the exact spot where the Tardis landed in Season 2 of Dr Who when they opened the console for the first time... Jack was still traveling with the Dr at that time so it makes a nice tie in between the two series...Hi I'm Jerren and I'm a Disneyholic...

Re: Torchwood
Yeah - did you catch whose hand is in the jar?
It's the Doctor's - collected after the Sycorax ( I think that's who it was ) encounter in the Christmas Invasion.

Re: Torchwood
Tonights episode of Torchwood was very edgy and scary. The best yet in my opinon. That Cyberwoman was scary. And the fact that the receptionist guy was the one who brought her in was extra good.
The Hand is being used to great affect in this seasons finale of Dr. Who last Friday and this coming Friday. The Master is really nasty. Both these shows are great.Peter Pan Forever!!! I Will Never Grow Up.

Re: Torchwood
I just re-watched the Doctor Who episode "Utopia" and I see the hand, and the foreshadowing of the Master being under the Professor. Looking forward to the episode of Torchwood we have waiting.I pledge allegiance to the Earth, one planet, many gods, and to the universe in which she spins.

Re: Torchwood
Next week's episode "Countrycide" is the MOST creepy of all the Torchwoods for the first season. It may also be one of the best episodes of the season. Be sure to watch it with the lights on.

Re: Torchwood
Just watched the episode where Jack and Tosh go back to 1941. I really really liked the scene with Jack and Jack. It was sweet, tender, touching- something like that. I loved how they were both in need, and could turn to each other. That tentative touching of hands, looking at the other to see if the interest is mutual, and the dance.
Yeah. Awesome episode.I pledge allegiance to the Earth, one planet, many gods, and to the universe in which she spins.
