  • ReBoot the TV show

I wonder if anybody else here remembers this cool CGI TV show from several years ago that showed on ABC. When Disney took over they canceled it, much to the fans anger as they said they would not do that but they did, but it continued on through two more seasons that were only shown in Canada.

I had taped Seasons 1 and 2 off the TV when they first aired, but missed a couple episodes. I got part 001 of season III on VHS and parts 002, 003 and 004 on DVD from Ebay. And from Amazon Buyer I got the Movies (2) that were made out of season 4's episodes on DVD.

Today I found an auction site called iOffer and found several sellers with complete sets of all 47 episodes from all seasons on 6 DVD's in a special case. So I got them.

I loved this show and thought it was one of the best CGI shows ever done on TV. The stories are all quite good and the animation and art are gorgeous. If you haven't seen this show, you missed some great stories about what life is like inside your computers. A Google Search for Reboot Cartoon will bring up a lot of sites, some not there anymore and a bunch that are with videos clips and pictures. It's worth a look.

Then you should be happy to read this:

    From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReBoot

In late July 2007, Rainmaker (Mainframe Entertainment who created the show was acquired by and renamed Rainmaker in 2006) announced plans to create a trilogy of ReBoot films.

I really don't trust Wikipedia all that much. This could just be a dream wish by some Reboot fan. I haven't heard anything about that and I have several new books on Reboot and the Art of Reboot. I do know that sometime when season 2 was on the air, Mainframe made feature movie in IMAX 3-D that was only shown in Canadian IMAX theaters. Never offered to the US. I would loved to have seen that.

          Re: ReBoot the TV show

I used to watch Reboot, and BeastWars. I'd also watch the new Jonny Quest just for the last 2 min. CG cutscene. That's when CG was so brand new and exotic and most video games were either still 2-D or very blocky and grainy.
Reboot was the coolest though. Didn't they make a PS one game eventually?

            Re: ReBoot the TV show

I think they did. I know there were several sets of action figures and toys. Bob's car big enough for the action figures and made noise and rocked back and forth when the engine was "started". The action figures were very well done, and the set made for Season Three were all 12" figures of the main characters. I never got the game, but I got all the action figures and toys. They are in storage downstairs right now as I re-arrange things - again.

I LOVE reboot!!!! I have some of the shows on DVD. I'm not sure if I have all three original seasons, I need to check and see which ones I have and get the rest if I don't have them. I have a set of the action figures... darn... what box are they in and where did I store them...

                Re: ReBoot the TV show

The first two season were shown on ABC. Season three and four were only shown on Canadian TV. One IMAX 3-D movie was released only in Canada. There are people on an auction site calle iOffer that have the entire run of 47 episodes (seasons 1 thru 4) on 6 DVD's. This is the only way you can get them now. The toys were cool. There were figures for Season 1 and 2 and then the larger 12" figures for Season 3. I don't know about any toys for Season 4. Plus Bob's car with motion and motor sounds which is way cool.
