I haven't seen an episode of the original series since it was on the air way back when.

Do you like the new incarnation, or are you one of the die-hard fans of the original that can't forgive the writers for the many changes they made?

I thought that Galactica 1980 was a spin-off of the original series and not necessarily a continuation of it. Do fans consider it the "final season of the original series" (as it is being marketed)?

In any case, after much prodding from friends about how good it was, I started netflixing the new Battlestar Galactica series... and I have to say I am totally hooked!

The "reimagining" of BSG that runs in Sci-Fi channel is total garbage, IMO. It's just a fanboy's wet dream. I tried watching it, but it was just horrible. Just like every show made for Sci-Fi. It's all just falgercarb. The lot of it.

As for G80, it's still canon. One might consider it "BSG: The Next Generation".
