So I'm watching the premiere of Viva Laughlin. Anyone else out there watching and a little creeped out?

I actually liked it. Could do without the singing. I liked the first one, but only cause it's Elvis. The rest could have been left out. But I like the overall show.

Now that I've seen more, the story line is kinda fun. That singing though. I wouldn't mind so much if the actors weren't singing over the original track. It makes it seem like a long, expensive youtube video! I mean, if you're going to make a musical, then make a musical.

I read a review on this, it's a remake of a english show that does the same thing with the singing, over the origional tracks, but the review I read suggested they kind of lost a lot of the energy with this version. I watched part of it, couldn't get into it. Hugh Jackman is apparently one of the show's producers.

It made me sad for Melanie Griffith and Hugh Jackman. And even Madchen Amick.

I'm all for genre-busting TV shows, but this seems to be done so half-heartedly, that I didn't care for it. I changed the channel. A lot.

Horrible acting, lackluster singing acts, and a fragmented storyline.

I'm sold. This is just the over-the-top series on a Sunday night that I've wanted to watch.

I tried to watch it and it didn't hold my attention
Why were they singing over the tracks... either have them lip-sync or have them sing by themselves. It just sounds sloppy. Lame

Yeah i liked it too, I thought overall it was really fun, i definitely like the casino setting. I think the singing will take some getting used to because its definitely not something you normally see in TV shows but i think the storyline seems strong

Well if you like it watch it fast.

Word is that it won't last long.

Some speculate it may go down as one of the worst shows ever.

I was confused and kind of creeped out by how Melanie Griffith looked - how much work has she had done??? The musical numbers well, I thought Melanies was the worst and she really can't act, or is that how she is - Hugh, well I like Hugh but I'm not sure if I really liked him in this, jury is still out - the guy I have no clue who he is (Viva's owner) well I'm not sure about him either - And they killed Wings! why??? Now I like him! Oh well, I'll probably watch again just to see if what I actually saw the first time was real - as if did they really make this show?????

I just now figured out that this was based on Blackpool.

Now I'm disappointed it flopped, but not surprised. Americans don't get that type of stuff.

Edit:

I just saw a clip - wow. Definitely not as good a quality as Blackpool. I can't believe someone at CBS let that go out there like that. The singing wasn't even synced up well. Someone lost their job over this. Or should have. Wow.

I watched about five minutes of the show and laughed my head off. Sorry but I have been to Laughlin many times and I am usually one of the youngest people there and I am just starting my 40's. I just could not get past all the pretty people in Laughlin.
