I read the book awhile ago and watched last night's pilot. It was just eh for me (both the book and TV show). I think Brooke Shields is totally miscast as Wendy. From the book I gathered that Wendy was kind of frumpy, something Brooke just isn't. I also thought the part of Victory was miscast -- that actress (can't think of her name) is too young for the part along with Andrew McCarthy as the multibillionaire.

I haven't got to watch the whole thing yet. Lindsay Price is the actress you're referring too. I love her, but going by the book she's young for the role. But, I liked the way she played the character. I LOVED her outfit when she was crying on the phone, the striped dress, tights and boots. And I loved when he sent the car for her and the guy had a cupcake  I'm not a huge fan of Andrew McCarthy in the role though.

Just finished last night's episode. I'm liking this one better that Cashmere Mafia.

Really? I like Cashmere Mafia better than Lipstick Jungle LOL - geez they are both basically the same premise

I like the actresses better in Cahsmere Mafia (well Lucy Lu has never been a favorite and I'm not sure if she really 'fits')

I do not like the actress that plays the new paramour of Andrew McCarthy - she's the designer and I'm on the fence over the magazine editor - she's meh for me - but I do like Brooke Shields, then again I've pretty much always liked her

I get more laughs out of Cashmere Mafia than I do Lipstick Jungle - for me too much sex in LP than CM - I can pretty much be done with that part all the time

Yeah, I like Cashmere Mafia better too. I really can't stand the way Lindsay Price is in the Victory Ford part. Probably would have helped if I hadn't read the book.

I haven't seen CM but I am liking LJ more. But I'm a Lindsey Price fan so... LOL I did think her hat thing was a bit ridiculous though.

I can't stand Lucy Lu and I'm not a huge fan of the character Caitlin, so that's part of not liking Cashmere Mafia so much. But, I LOVE Juliet, she's my favorite character on CM

With Lipstick Jungle, I'm still not a fan of Andrew McCarthy as that character. But, I'm love Lindsay Price, she's not playing the character true to the book, but I still love her.

              I'm still watching both though

I like Cash much better than LJ. All of the characters in LJ play to the stereotypes of succesful women. CM kind of says forget you to that and has them play the parts with the same ruthlessness and determination as men. It makes the characters difficult to like but much more interesting than the typical " I have something bad happening to me so I'm going to cry and eat chocolate" characters on LJ. If I see one more woman portrayed as " I'm a strong confidant woman, but underneath I'm just a sensitive as the next victimized woman" I'm going to puke!

I can't stand Caitlin either! Juliet I do like, though. She is great!

I agree that Andrew McCarthy is horribly miscast.

                  I'm still watching both too.

                    Re: Lipstick Jungle

I think Brooke Shields is a terrible actress. Period. I always have. So yeah, I could do without her as a studio boss. Her husband is a delight though. I love that guy.

Andrew McCarthy I never ever will ever buy as a multibillionaire, semi-jerky guy. I read the book and I barely remember the characters.

Lindsay Price is good in the role, but much too young from the book.

And I looove Kim Raver, but botox much? Come on. I love her character and her acting. And that cute photo guy, yummmmmm. He's like a young Scott Speedman. I'll watch Kim Raver in anything--she's always good.

So yes, I keep watching....but no I don't really care for the show that much.

CM is usually on Wednesday nights but I think Men in Trees is on in it's place this week.
