  • [Question] Where are Disney's lowest paid CMs?

I used CMs (cast members) rather than the word "workers" because second or third-world factory workers making Disney products for independent contractors would easily "win" this.

Where are the lowest paid Disney CMs?

I'd guess on Disney Cruise ships. Some of them currently work 77 hours a week and some go 4 months in a row without one day off.
(Iger & Staggs to themselves: "Hey, that's capitalism." Note: I'm fully prepared to become a hypocrite if I sell something I write.)

How are the CMs paid at Hong Kong & Tokyo Disneylands, and at Disneyland Paris?

With California's incoming $10 an hour minimum wage, I'd guess that Disneyland has or will have the highest paid CMs. What are the starting hourly wages at Disneyland and Disney World these days?

The current minimum wage in France is ... 9.40 euros.
France boosts minimum wage - The Riviera Times Online

    That's about $12.97/hour

So, doubtful Disneyland Paris employees are the lowest paid.

California's is going from $8 to $9 to $10 over the next couple of years.

I actually doubt it's the DCL employees. They do get room, board and perks. As do the DCPs at WDW. I would guess other WDW CMs, probably ODV has the lowest.

Do guests leave tips for housekeepers in the hotels?

Yes in the US & Paris, but I'm not sure about Hong Kong and Japan.
Thanks, CA Adventurer for the french min. wage info!

FYI: I just Googled two of Swampy's acronyms I was unfamiliar with.
DCP stands for Disney College Program and ODV is Outdoor Vending.

I would say the Florida cast members are the likely the lowest paid, on google you can often find a copy of the most current union contract for the Florida parks which includes pay scales for various jobs.
