  • "Battleship" Sucess or failure

Well as I watched battleship last night on damand and is it a sucess or a failure. Well actauly Because this is new when I watch movies, a movie can be a sucess or a failure but if it has some flaws but some good well I well put it as for everybody else.
and that's actauly what the h**l happened. So the humor and action is well pretty good but really what about russan's instead alliens. but I will leave it up to you till the end of the month.

Hollywood doesn't look at "the humor and action was pretty good" as a success. They look at how much $$ the movie made vs. the investment they put into the movie.

When you look at that equation the movie was not even close to being a success.

Definite failure. It was critically panned and made very little money compared to how much it cost to make. The toys also aren't selling very well.

In the big picture, it's a failure.

But in my tiny, little world where I hated having to go see it with friends, I walked out enjoying it more than I expected. It ain't great! But in the context of my initial expectations of it, I could call it a success.

Failure. Why? Two words, Micheal. Bay. If he was not producing it could have been better. We all know he has the mentality of a 5 year old. So we will have to see how the new Ninja Turtles movie measures up to this abomination.

Yeah, he'll set it in a post apocalyptic Candy land where "aliens" have taken over.
Seriously, Micheal Bay is obsessed with "aliens".

If you want to see the Missouri, you're better off watching Under Siege.

You know what upsets me more than Michael Bay and his movies? ALL THE PEOPLE WHO SPEND MILLIONS OF THEIR DOLLARS GOING TO SEE THEM, MAKING STUDIOS BELIEVE IT'S A SAFE BET TO CONTINUE INVESTING IN MORE OF HIS MOVIES.

Sorry to yell, but I had to get that outta my system.

Much as I dislike "Michael Bay movies" overall (Pearl Harbor being the ultimate stinkeroo that I'd like to shoot myself for having paid money to see in the theater, about on par with how I feel about having paid to see the abysmal Armageddon), I still consider Bad Boys II an eternally enjoyable guilty pleasure, one that I never get tired of watching. *shrug* Go figure.

First off... before we blame someone, can we get the facts straight? Michael Bay did not produce Battleship. It IS, however, a product of Hasbro as was all three Transformers films.

So while Michael Bay does create some terrible (but fun) action movies, he is not to blame for Battleship.

... if filmmakers imitate his style, that's more a fault of the filmmakers, not Michael Bay.

I can't imagine anyone demanding this movie, especially Universal Pictures during it's 100th Anniversary. Lucky for them their little bear movie 'Ted' made over $400 million at a fraction of that leaky tub's production and publicity budgets.

Even though Michael Bay didn't have anything to do with THIS movie, I will admit to enjoying a couple of his movies for what they are, mindless fun entertainment. Some of my favorite movies of his include: The Rock, Armageddon, Transformers (the first one).

                              Friday the 13 (2009),
                              Nightmare on elm street (2010),
Texas chainsaw massacre films (2003 and 2006),
