  • Disney music in non-disney movies?

    Hey everyone!

I'm working on a writing project, and was doing some research of the time period my story takes place. During said research, I discovered (unsurprisingly) that a Disney song was one of the top hits of the period, and that naturally set my mind ablaze in trying to incorporate it into my project!

So now I'm doing additional research... Can anyone think of Disney music showing up in media outside of Walt Disney Pictures or it's affiliates? I'm well aware of things like "I've Got No Strings" in Age of Ultron and all that, but it's STILL technically Disney... so think BEYOND that if you can!

An obvious one is "When You Wish upon a Star," which played a major role in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

Several Disney productions, including Touchstone Pictures' "Splash" and "Ruthless People," have used "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah," and songs like it.

Touchstone Televsion's "The Golden Girls" also used "it's a small world" and a couple of other songs, I believe.

Most of the non-Disney uses lately have been advertisements for Beats, Toyota, Delta, etc.
