  • [SPOILERS] "Avengers: Infinity War" Is What Happens When Money Writes Movies

For fans who like being manipulated by a mega-corp, this movie is just your meat.

    Bon appetit.

The End Of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Is What Happens When Money Writes Movies

A manipulative finale exposes the holes in Marvel’s grander blockbuster scheme.

To kill off so many vital players in “Infinity War” is a cheap reflection of Hollywood’s bloated franchise infatuation. Disney knows you’ll be back for more next year. Hell, you might even be back for more next weekend.

Someone save us from this capitalistic catastrophe. Someone who isn’t a superhero.
"Disneyland is often called a magic kingdom because
it combines fantasy and history, adventure and learning,
together with every variety of recreation and fun,
    designed to appeal to everyone."

    - Walt Disney

"Disneyland is all about turning movies into rides."
    - Michael Eisner

    "It's very symbiotic."
    - Bob Chapek

    Avengers: Infinity WarTOMATOMETER

    84% AUDIENCE SCORE

    93%
Critic Consensus: Avengers: Infinity War ably juggles a dizzying array of MCU heroes in the fight against their gravest threat yet, and the result is a thrilling, emotionally resonant blockbuster that (mostly) realizes its gargantuan ambitions.

That's actually a very good aggregate score amongst critics for Infinity War. Whether individuals like or dislike Marvel, it's hard to argue why Disney would not want to bring Marvel into the parks. 18 Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Every single one has opened number one at the box office. Infinity War makes 19 for 19. That makes the MCU the most successful film franchise in movie history...

To be fair, 3 points (creative, not business) need to be made, regarding the twist:

      1. In the original comic, Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos does kill off half of the universe, with him wiping out characters left and right. And while it does get reversed, it still shocks the audience to see a villain win, instead of the heroes of being defeated.

      2. While it is easy to mock the ending, because they kill off characters that have a 99.9% chance of appearing in future installments, there are some characters, who died, that have NO guarantee that they will come back.(Heimdall, Scarlet Witch, Vision).

      3. And this isn't the first(or the last) time to for a story to do the "switch-bait death". DISNEYhas always done this, since the beginning of the company. It's became so notable, that a Trope* is named after Disney's pattern.

*A Trope is a commonly used plot device or cliche in writing.
The Disney Death trope as used in popular culture. Beloved major character is seemingly killed at the climax of the movie/episode, hearts are wrenched, four- …
