There was a rumor they may be doing that, which would be good. However, this director choice is not a good sign. It's too bad, because I was really looking forward to this.

Thank heavens... Comingsoon.net is now reporting that Affleck is not attached to Justice League.

I have no clue how they can set this up......or if it will even be good...Avengers worked because it was fun but Superman...does not look like a fun film..but another dark comic story...

Just trying to copy The Avengers will only result in a lousy rip off. Being "fun" is not a requirement for a good story.

Honestly, Ben Affleck the Director is actually good. Ben Affleck the actor, not so much.

The problem I would have had with him directing is that it has been reported that he is only interested in directing things that he is going to star in. I don't want to see him cast as one of the superheroes in the film. I think we all remember the Dare Devil fiasco where the only thing good about the movie was the soundtrack, and that wasn't even that memorable.

DareDevil was bad ... no arguing that. But it was hardly the only bad movie Marvel put out during that time period (Daredevil, Elektra, Hulk, Punisher, Fantastic Four 2).

I'm not one to defend Affleck, but it wasn't entirely his fault.

Ben Affleck gets a bad rap, for sure. And for some reason, people forget that Iron Man was directed by Jon Favreau (the guy from Swingers). Affleck is superior to Favreau in my opinion.

Super Hero Hype reported yesterday that this movie is most likely the next time that Batman will be seen on film. Apparently there is talk of another reboot of the character, but that will likely happen after Justice League.

He may get a bad rap for his directing, but I think most people's assessment of his acting is spot on. The last thing that I want to see is Affleck as the next Green Lantern or Flash.

Of course not...but neither is going too dark

I hope they go with movies that felt like the Justice League show and the new Young Justice Show...with some more adults themes but some funny characters too (Robin, Kid Flash, Blue Beetle)

Also..no aliens...been done maybe one Villain Alien..but no invasions
                        Happy Halloween!!!

You are aware, though, that the team's first appearance in the comics had them fighting Starro the Conqueror who was a giant starfish from outer space? If they are to be true to the source material that is who the first villain should be.

^Look at Backman Begins.....those don't 100% follow the backstory (in the first two films at least) they were adaptions, with many things from the comic's but new things to make it work for the movies

Aliens have just been over done since Transformers 1....and since Avengers 2 will once again have aliens in it.....I think at least the first justice league should start with fighting many villains from earth, then move on to characters like Dark Side or brainiac

From reading calsig31 and JerrodDRagon's posts, it's occurred to me that the Justice League movie not only has the handicap of coming after the successful The Avengers, but also coming out last among many other successful comic book and super team (e.g., Transformers) films. And folks like JDR will be comparing JL to what they've already seen other films do and judge its originality or lack there of while just as many comic book fans like cs31 will judge it based on the filter their knowledge of the original source material OR their enjoyment of animated series from SuperFriends to Justice League Unlimited.

In some respects, the Justice League's greatest enemy are The Fans!

I don't envy Warner Bros' position. I hope they get it right too. But it's a tough needle to thread, especially these days, that's for sure.

Whatever they end up doing, they are going to have to come up with a villain that is more than a match for Superman. I've always wondered why, if Superman was part of the battle, do we need the rest of the league?
